My Highland goat was doing fine,
He ate 3 shirts from my back line.
I took a stick and gave a whack
And tied him to the railroad track.
The whistle blew, the train grew nigh,
My highland goat was sure to die.
I took a knife and cut that rope

I've never heard of these before. Ha! Awesome.

There was this thing we used to do to pick the order we'd take turns in a game. The kids would sit in a circle with both their feet in the middle and someone would be the pointer and say the rhyme.

Finger in the middle:
"Dip, dip."

Starting at a random foot and moving clockwise with each word:
"Dog $#!^, who trod in it?"

Whoever's foot they land on would say a name and the pointer would spell it, moving to a different foot with each letter.
Eg. "S-T-E-V-E"

The owner of the foot they landed on would take that one foot out of the circle and the pointer would continue.
"What colour was it?"

The person landed on would say a colour and it would be spelled.
Eg. "W-H-I-T-E"

Again the person landed on would take that one foot out.

The rhyme would be repeated untill there was only one person left. It's the pointer's choice whether the first person out would have the first or the last turn.

Sorry about this post but it's kinda hard to explain without physically showing you.
