Scorchwood High is a school for supernatural beings that resemble humans. you may come across some hardships and villains at this school, but that's just how it goes, isn't it? new students are transported into Pinevale (the town) in busses. they are dropped off at Pinevale General Hospital to be "disinfected" from the outside world and checked for supernatural abilities. Pinevale is a town inhabited only by supernatural beings and "pet" humans, for the vampires. after the doctors of Pinevale General Hospital have decided that the kids are "magical" enough, they are free to roam the town and do whatever they want between classes. Scorchwood high is a boarding school, but the students are able to come and go as they please, with a permit from the headmaster or the company of a prefect of course.
If you are unsure if you want to join or not because the rp has already started, don't worry about it. Most of the important lore is here in the directory, and if you want more info, pm me or one or the other members and we can get you caught up in no time!

Rules/Info:
~any mary sues can and will be kicked out. please do not be a mary sue, no one likes them.
~abide by the sylestia forum rules
~you may kill off other people's characters, but keep in mind that yours can be killed as well. you needn't ask other people permission to kill their character unless you absolutely want to
~up to 3 characters per person, but you don't have to add them all at once and dead characters can be replaced with new ones.
~you can pm me at any time during the roleplay if you have any questions or if you want to start a "behind the scenes" plot twist of something.
~there might be more paranormal creatures in the roleplay than i added, but they will probably be "npcs"
~i might add more paranormal creatures to the list if someone pms me more ideas
~npc's can be controlled by anyone!
Supernatural Beings:
Angel:
Angels are kind creatures that are too kind for their own good. They are unable to lie, or even tell a joke that may come across as a lie. They have exceptional healing abilities and can even bring people back from the dead under certain circumstances. They aren't very fast fliers, but that doesn't change the fact of how majestic they look in the air. When an angel dies, another angel can give them their halo to bring them back, but if an angel loses their halo for more than 24 hours they will die.
Harpy:
pretty much just a human with giant bird wings. they do not change form, but their wings can fold up so flat against their backs that they can hide them, enabling them to be able to walk among humans. their wings are the source of their power, and without them they will be a regular human with slightly heightened abilities. they also have two of the following abilities
~siren song (though you cannot control people. it's basically just having a very beautiful voice)
~the ability to heal injuries on themselves or others. however, the worse the injury, the more of a toll it will take on them
~withstand extreme temperatures
Vampire:
can have up to two of the following abilities:
~super speed
~super strength
~can jump extra high
~heightened senses
Canine Shifter:
basically a normal human being when in human form, but can change into the kind of canine of your choosing. (Wolf Shifter, Coyote Shifter, some kind of dog shifter, Fox Shifter)
automatically has all of the following abilities:
~Shifting (to ONE other form, has to be a type of canine)
~Heightened senses
Windigo/Wendigo:
a bit taller than most people. when in their form, they grow antlers and get about 6 inches taller.
they have super strength when in their Wendigo/Windigo form.
Mixed Breed:
if the parents are two different paranormal creatures, your character can be a mixed breed. mixed breeds will have all of the "automatic" abilities that the full breeds have, but whenever it says "pick two abilities" you may only pick one.
Deadly Sins:
similar to mixed breeds, a paranormal creature with a deadly sin takes on characteristics and powers of the deadly sin that they are connected with. a character becomes a deadly sin when brought back from the dead by an angelic being once killed during the roleplay.
Pride:
you are beyond confident with what you can do, and radiate charisma. you can bluff surprisingly well, or gain a burst of proficiency with what you claim.
Greed:
as you would expect, greed is very greedy. you hoard items that you like, and don't want to share with anyone, ever.
Wrath:
when you get angry, which happens a lot, the ends of your hair catch fire and you seem to gain super strength
Envy:
you're constantly jealous of what others have, and resort to trickery that works more often than not. you can cheat, steal, taunt, or prank with an almost guaranteed success.
Lust:
you are ultimately attractive. you can swoon your way with anyone you desire that has at least some sort of attraction to your gender. people will do whatever you tell them to, and your eye color changes to a royal ethereal purple.
Gluttony:
you are an excellent chef. your food heals people, it's that amazing. the downside to having gluttony is that people don't often get a chance to try your cooking because you always eat all of the food!
Sloth:
you are a very chill person. you have the ability to make one person at a time extremely lazy, to the point that more weak people will fall asleep, and stronger people will lose a significant amount of energy and become very slow.

Backstory: she grew up in the human world until she was 9 years old and accidentally shifted to her canine form in front of the gossipy students at her human school. to make a long story short, (more will be explained during the rp when interacting with other characters) the government found out and tried to send her to a lab, so her family sent her to Pinevale to start a new life this year after six years of running and hiding from people trying to kill her while her family continued living in the human world.
