I have an extra festive spring outfit which I obviously can't use, since you can't wear more than one outfit at a time :-p

Thus, I have decided to give it away in a contest.

The contest is simple: Create something (whether it's a pet, short story, character blurb, drawing, poem, or something else) and whichever I like the most, gets the outfit. Runner up gets a zolnixi essence.

For each category (currently I see the categories as Writing, Art, Pet design), there will be a prize given to what I perceive as the best creative work. This prize will either be epic zolnixi or vulnyx ears.

To be clear, no one will win two prizes- if your work is chosen as the one I like most, it is no longer eligible for being chosen as the best creative work in its category.

Contest begins 4/12/2013 and ends 4/28/2013 at 11:59:59 PM.

Good luck everyone!

Edit for clarity: You may enter only one work per category, but you can change and edit your entry until the end of the contest

This is awesome! Story:
Intro: The Dark Lighting, not much is known of her but just last year I received a letter detailing one of her adventures. I spent my time pondering the letter and after reviewing it and checking the facts I have decided that the world should know of the bravery of Shia.
Ch.1: I write in this journal that I was given as a gift from John for my fifteenth birthday. I write so I may remember and when the time comes others may know. I am Shia. I am called The Dark Lighting. My job is to save the world. At least that's what I'm told. Some old; blind lady predicted it but until then I will keep training. I will do my best. John works me hard but it is okay. Every day I get up at five thirty. I dress, eat, and then work in the garden. Around seven I get in my training gear and train with John or another student of his. We do different things different days. All my battle training ends for lunch and then after lunch I go to the more 'womanly' activities. John believes that girls, though training for battle, should know home skills as well. It is smart of him. You learn patience, small hand skills, and how to survive better under cover. Sometimes I find it a bore but it is interesting too. These lessons go until dinner. Dinner is eaten in a huge mess hall that doubles as a ball room. After dinner it is free time. You can practice, read, study, ect. I usually go outside to work in the garden. I love to be outside with the plants. John says I have a gift with them. I am the youngest student he has. With the setting sun I retire to bed.
Ch. 2: I will tell you one of my first adventures, the one that started my legend. It all started when John Invited me on my first big mission: John has invited me to do a mission with him! It will be my first big mission. I am so excited. Our job is to save the village of Kroon in the kingdom of Tilplo from the evil dragon. I have never met a dragon so this will be my first time seeing one. John said that I should study up on them, get some sleep, and prepare my weapons. We are leaving in one day. John said that it should take us two days to reach the kingdom. We will beat the dragon and then go home. John told me to mostly sit and watch so he and Cris would do most of the work. I have beaten Cris on two occasions and I know he is good, but John wants me to watch mostly because it will be my first dragon and my first big mission. Cris has gone on several missions. Even one without John with him. I, on the other hand am young and inexperienced. It does not bother me to much I know I will help in some way or else He would not have asked me to come. I am excited to find out how it is to go on such an important mission. I haven't been around very much and so this will as be a chance for me to see a part of the rest of the world. John lives in a secluded area and the closest village is five miles away. He owns a lot of land and so we never come in contact with the outside world unless it is for a mission or one of his friends comes over. Not that he lets us talk to them much. He always says that we should be working instead of listening to an old man ramble on. I pack everything I will need for the mission in a plain brown bag that I can swing over my shoulder. It has one strap. As the sun set I looked out my window fingering my pendant. It was the first quiet time I had gotten in a while and I wanted to enjoy it.
Ch. 3: "Hurry up we need to leave now!" There was John yelling at me again. "I'm hurrying!" I stayed up to late last night, but I thought I saw something in the forest that my window looks out on. I just had to check on it. Now I am the slowest to leave. My red-brown hair uncombed and my bag flying behind me I quickly mount the horse. "Slowpoke." Cris teases me. I could have been faster but breakfast was pancakes today and I like to enjoy my food. Especially when it is pancakes. Riding out was a quiet thing. No one was there to wish us luck or tell us to be careful. No goodbye party. No fretting, or asking if we had every thing. All in all it was normal. The trip there was very unevent full and we arrived in the village without incident. The village was just like any other. The houses were strewn about, with the richer up a slope and the poorer down hill with the shops in the middle. We would be staying in the Butter Duck Inn for the night and then set off to defeat the dragon in the morning.
Ch. 4: Morning, early morning. The fog clings to the ground and dew shines on the grass. We are going to defeat the dragon today. It's HUGE. The dragon that is. All black with its midnight scales. A cow could walk into its jaw and not touch the teeth. Its tail was long as it and had a wicked looking barb at the end of it. A horde of stolen gold could be seen in the cave behind it. "Don't look into its eyes." John said. I looked down. I had almost forgotten. I had my long sword at my side with my bow and arrows on my back. I readied my bow. John and Cris drew their swords. I was supposed to be back up. John charged the dragon on the right and Cris flanked its left. I loosed an arrow at its eye. I missed and it bounced harmlessly off its scales. John got under the dragon and was about to slash its soft arm pit when it flew up to the top of the cave. Fire came roaring out of its mouth. The fire melted the rock I was next to and John barely missed getting hit. Cris on the other hand wasn't so lucky. His leg was burned, bad. I ran over to him and helped him to a relatively safe spot. I handed him my bow and arrows and drew my sword. I looked out. John had been hit with the dragon's tail and seemed to be unconscious. I ran out and ran to him. He was unconscious. The dragon landed and was about to swallow me when Cris shot its eye. He was always good with his timing. The dragon reared back and roared. Its roar shook the cave walls and even covering my ears I could here it very well. My ears were ringing now but I had to ignore them for the moment. The biggest problem right now was the dragon. I had to take him out and fast. I ran at him, with my sword to my side, I dodged fire and a lashing tail. I slid under it cutting him in his soft arm pit. He roared again and then flew up and grabbed me. I could feel and hear some of my ribs cracking as he lifted me into the air to finish me off. I could see a fire of hatred burning in its eyes. It was about to devourer me when an arrow whistled by, and landed right in his mouth. He roared and then dropped me as John slashed his back leg. At least he was awake but this fall was going to hurt. At least I wasn't to high in the air.I remember slamming into the ground and watching my life blood flow. I also remember just before I passed out thinking. What if we don't make it?

The story can be any length, and can end on a cliffhanger.

@Marsandin,

Your story length is fine

@Bella1988, 3 Entries below (I really want that outfit xD)

Story:
Once upon a time there was a beautiful Zolinxi. She had magnificent patterns and luscious tails, but there was one thing that she was missing, color. Everywhere she looked she saw wonderful yellows, greens, blues, and reds, but no matter how hard she wished, the Zolinxi could not gain those colors.

One day a little butterfly came along and happened to land on the Zolinxi's back for a nice nap. *Sniffle, Sniffle* the butterfly heard after an hour had passed. The butterfly flew up again and became surprised to see the sad Zolinxi.
"What is the matter?" the butterfly asked.
"Oh, *sniff*, I just feel so plain without any colors." the Zolinxi replied with her head facing downward.
"But you are so beautiful, is that not enough?" the butterfly said.
"Thank you, but it's still so difficult - Everywhere I look I see what I do not have", the Zolinxi paused, and then looked up at the butterfly waiting for a reply.
After thinking for a minute the butterfly exclaimed, "I have an idea!"

Any option was better than none, so the Zolinxi followed the butterfly. The two gathered some grass and strawberries that were around in the fields and went to make some dye! Thankfully for the Zolinxi, the butterfly took care of the complicated dye making process. The zolinxi rolled around in the dye till she had turned green and pink and then the butterfly touched up the Zolinxi's spots and stripes.

"Oh it's gorgeous!" the Zolinxi exclaimed.
"I must return the favor! Is there anything you would want?" the Zolinxi continued.
"nothing really," the butterfly replied.
"But there must be!" the Zolinxi said, not backing down.
"Wellll, if you really say so, then could I have a spot on your back to rest? It is most comfy there." the butterfly said.
"That's all? Of course you can!" the Zolinxi said merrily, most happy for the company.

The little butterfly flew down and landed right back where it started, in it's cozy little spot, and the Zolinxi and butterfly lived happily ever after.
