I'm currently working on some projects to get some 6 vis themed pets, and I'm wondering if any more experienced players can give me some advice on how to price the offspring of a project when it's finished. It's quite difficult for me to judge when there isn't anything even remotely similar on the advanced search.

Here's a link to my current project ideas if it helps to use those as examples of how to price things: https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=100305

I'm more interested in a general understanding of how to price them rather than just specific price recommendations for those specific projects, though. That way I'll have some idea of how to price future projects too.

Pricing can be a bit tricky, tho themmed are a bit easier. You would still have to check the price for 6vis of this themme or for themmes of similar rarities / public interest and find a price in that ball park. It's somthing you just learn to do overtime since there are no hard guidelignes.

Assuming that all those will be fertil and not max stat, here is a vague idea of what those pricing could look like. I picked a few exemple i think would help understand better how to evaluate each of them.

Summer squach :

- Bulbori is mostly seen as a neutraly liked speacie so nothing special on the speacie side
- no tagged, 2 to 4 tp around 20k in the AS
- already have been 6vis in the past (tho i coudnt find the price)
- no disliked traits (luck rune, rainbow, g3 leaf vein...)

i would say in the price range of 100 to 170k

-----------------------------------
Lavender Cornsnake

- lightra are mostly neutraly liked tho they are also fabled so a bit more work then normal
- tagged can easily go up to 350k
- no 6vis were ever made
- no dislked traits

this one can easily go in the 450 to 600k range

-----------------------------------
Haunted Depths

- slightly more liked then lightra, not enough to justify any price increass
- 6vis already avalable at 400k fertil non statted

would probably be best not to sale for more then 400k unless justifiable via restricted traits

Some genes that are usualy seen as bad can still be highly liked with the right color and genes tho so asking for jugement in the design discution forum can help figuring this out if you want to try adding those to your project.

Thanks so much for all the info! Couple quick follow up questions:

1. Which species would you say are well liked, neutrally liked and disliked?

2. I assume there would be far too many disliked traits for you to list them all here, but is there some kind of list anywhere that another user has made, or any way of figuring that out?

3. What percentage would you reduce the cost by for infertile offspring?

1. Alot of them vary from time to time tho Morkko and draeil are by far the ones who are disliked the more while zolnix, vulnixi and ferrikki are highly liked. For the puffadore and nephilini, it compleately depend of the themme weather they are neutral or liked.

2. There isnt a list as far as i know since it is subjective tho there are a few that appear alot more, those are :

- leaf veins as G3, it's bulky and hide everything beneth it so for speacies who have several genes for the body paterns this is a big issue. It isnt as problematic when this trait is on gene 1 or on speacies like the aeridini who spread their three genes to different part of their body.

- luck runes, it's bulky and hide alot of the pet others features

- anything rainbow, on themme it hide the actual color of the trait

3. It depend of the pet, for a simple themmed maby 10 to 20 %, in some cases it's more then worth doing so to keep the themme value tho.

Thanks again for answering all my questions!

For the last one, do you mean you would sell an infertile pet for 10-20% less than the fertile cost, or 10-20% of the fertile cost? Like if the fertile was 100K, would the infertile be 80K or 20K?

10 to 20% less then the fertile ones, tho the positive side of doing this is to prevent others players to breed knock off vertions of your project without realy understanding their values and flooding the market. If that themme already have another player selling 6vis this could also be a way to lower the price without hurting the themme as a whole. ^-^

Yeah, that's why I'm hoping to mostly sell infertile pets, I just thought they would be worth a lot less (like maybe half of a fertile pet's worth) so it's good to know they're only worth about 20% less not 50% less haha!

Hi!

I know your questions were already answered, but I feel like I should let you know that the prices Cian is suggesting are a little bit highballing. Of course, it is your right to sell however you would like - and I am not bashing Cian or anything, it's just....aaaa.

To put into perspective; I sell my max stat Breaking Tulip (a theme far older than Summer Squash) Bulbori for 225k.
-Bulbori offspring already do not sell well; and a theme as recent as Summer Squash doubly so.
-Remember, you want to set your pets for something that someone will actually buy. That's the goal, right?
-Ex. Skor is selling 6vis infertile April Rain Bulbories for 75k. This is a much more reasonable price, but I (who is[/am? idk grammar] an avid Bulbori collector), am still thinking this is on the pricey side.
-Another Ex. is Goldshinx, who is selling their Forbidden Spell 6vis infertile for 45k. This is a price I am much more likely to get behind.

**The guide here, typically, is that in no way should an offspring sell for x2 or x3 of what you paid for its parents, I think DX (Unless it's a zone themed you got for like 5k)
