Hello I'm new here, and I have a question about the eggs.

My first one hatched today and I honestly found it so fun and exciting that I can't wait to find another one. ( Took me two days to realise that we can nurture the egg once a day, too! ) But I don't know how to come across them... Do they come up with the story as you progress further or is it random? How or where can you find these eggs? :O

Thanks in advance!

In the first two areas of the game (Viridian Meadows and Umbra Forest), you can find eggs through random chance as you explore the areas you are questing in. In the third area (Astryl's Vale) and on the festival maps your avatar wanders around an actual map and you can find eggs that sometimes spawn on designated squares of the map while you explore.

You can also buy eggs from the scale shop (for scales from nurturing; higher scale amounts = higher numbers of trait points), from the puffadore shop in Ethernia (Astryl's Vale), the Ny'vene shop (in the Arena in Astryl's Vale), and from other players through the advanced search (these could be eggs that players bred themselves, or ones they found and put up for sale).

Finally, during festivals, you can also make eggs using the specific sylesti crafting activity for that festival (for example Winter Fest, which is just coming to an end, uses sylesti ice sculpting for this, whereas in spring there is sylesti flower growing).

If I missed any ways to get eggs, I'm sure someone else will catch it and let you know XD But, suffice to say: there are lots of ways to find eggs that you can enjoy hatching ^.^

in regions 1+2 (viridian meadows zones, umbra forest zones) you can find them randomly while exploring. They'll be a random regular species (not sure if they can be lunemara or kelpari though?), and typically low rarity (0-2 tp) (I am not sure if you can get epic rarity ones in region 1, though you definitely can in 2. I'm fairly sure they cannot be legendary or mythical, but who knows)

in the scale shop, you can buy eggs for scales, with the TP count (and the carry-vis ratio) depending on the price (condensed list of price-tp conversions here, though it's a little bit guesstimate in places it should be fairly accurate). They cannot be lunemara or kelpari.

in region 3 and fest zones (astryl's vale zones, and fest zones like the currently available Howling Pass), if you clear out treasure nodes then certain ones have a chance that when they respawn it will be an egg.
Astryl eggs can be any rarity (I believe at the same ratio as wild pets can be) and any regular species or nephini (very very rarely)
Fest zone eggs will always be one of the available fest zone themes, and have the same tp/rarity scaling (they will always be at least 2tp, just like any other zone theme etc)

in the Lost Grove nests have their own rng % chance that's in part based off of... how many item nodes you collect? maybe? There was something about that in the first info post about them. But you can boost the % by releasing pets over 42 days of age. Once a nest spawns it's reset to the baseline %.
LG nests:
Can be either unthemed or themed (with the themes depending on if you're in section 1 or 2) (unless you're in the Temple/section 3, where all nests are temple themes)
unthemed egglings will be either epic or legendary, and have lg bonus stat range of +9-+12
themed egglings can be rare, epic, or legendary, and have an lg bonus stat range of +20-+30
(Temple egglings can be rare/epic/legendary, the same as other themed grove egglings, but have an lg bonus stat range of +40-+60)

(also, further on nurturing
You can nurture any eggling or hatchling once per day, with correct nurtures granting you a scale (and a very rare chance at a regular or enhanced essence drop of the nurutred species, and during fests, a rare chance of fest currency token drop)
Every 6 correct nurtures to an eggling speeds its growth by an hour
every 4 to a hatchling speeds its growth by an hour, and every 8 grants it an extra stat point to its lowest stat
(the actal numbers do not carry over between eggling to hatchling, so if an eggling has 7 nurtures when it hatches, then '7' on their counter is now their '0' in function)

Eggling> if warm, cool it - if cold, warm it - if restless, turn it - if dirty, clean it
hatchling> if weak, work out - if bored, play - if derpy, read - if slow, race

you go to the sculpt page, click one of the empty palettes and pay 5k gold to buy an ice block, click the ice block to bring up a popup to be able to apply your frost essence
(if you don't have a frost for a theme you want you can either see if anyone else would trade for what you have, or would sell you what you want, or you can get enough that you can melt them down to either try to combine for a different one in the inventory (rng, tied to the rarity of the frost essences, and can only produce non-aged themes) or go to the essence exchange and pay those melted frost essences to buy what you want)

Once a frost essence is 'planted', it will slowly progress, and every 30-35 minutes it will get a Condition (frosted, melting, or cracked) that you or another player can fix with an additive (gentle warmth, super chilled ice, or block of ice respectively, obtained from Ice Sculpting Agent boxes)
When a sculpt is taken care of, it will increase in Quality- starting at Normal, rising to Good, Great, and then Perfect- which will do things like speed up how fast it's grow timer progresses, and if kept at Perfect it will get points toward Bonuses (for regular + fabled themes, bonus 1 is extra stat points, and bonus 2 is an extra carried trait, for majestics both bonuses are stat boosts) (bonus stats are ?200?HP, ?20? mana, and 10 str/int/dex/agi per stat bonus)
if a sculpt has a Condition for more than an hour, it will drop one Quality tier, and then will drop another tier for every extra hour it goes untended (until it hits normal tier)

You can add Ice Water to a sculpt to get traits- regular ice water gives 1vis, greater gives 2vis, exceptional gives 3vis (except on majestics, where reg gives 2c, greater is 1v, and exceptional is 2v)

Blue or pink frosty coating let you pick the gender of the pet

Frosty Jewel lets you pick what slot you want a trait in, up to the amount of slots that your water allows vis traits (what trait you get from that slot will still be random

frosty glitter makes it so a vis trait has a recessive trait under it

frosty fairy dust gives the pet bonus stats (each one is... Not sure about HP+mana, but the base four stats are all +5 per boost)
