1. pets heal over time on their own so long as they aren't in a fight
2. I see you currently have pets on missions- that will net them exp. But so long as you're sending the right pets on the right job so as to get satisfactory or exceptional results from the mission, you'll get mission satchels from that. Mission satchels can contain gold, armor, or healing items.
You can unlock more mission slots (to a total of 6) at Esior's haven plaza once you have the gold, and with pets set up specifically for each type of mission, you can pretty much keep a constant flow of satchels coming in.
3. Umbra Forest is designed with the expectation that you have all three pet slots (the third slot is unlocked at sanctuary of saerielle plaza)
4. your two party pets are both Attacker elements- both fire and air only have offensive elemental attacks, no inbuilt healing (at least until a LOT later, since Air gets some healing via having moves get up to higher ranks in the lost grove)
Most teams consist of Tank/ Healer (or buffer) / attacker
Tanks, who go in slot 1, are generally Earth, Water, Shadow, sometimes Light.
Healer is Light / Buffer is Water
Attacker is Fire, Air
Definitely not the only setup, but its the most common. Water and light can double up on healer(/buffer)+tank in slot 1, though water can't really act as buffer until at least lv30 (when they get Ice Barrier), and don't get good at being buffer until later levels
Shadows can pull off overall survivalist team, since they can heal themselves at a respectable rate, but they don't have the damage output of the attacker elements.
Equips are generally boosting the right stats on your two pets, it's just the level+rarity letting them down on that front, I tossed over some pieces of gear that I had lying around for them, Myrmidon for Air, Evoker for Fire (or light) |
