I've looked at your party and have immediately seen what your main issue is likely to be, and it's your gear.
1 (unrelated to that) make sure you're running Aquadance in slot 1- Water is the Tanking element of the two, and enemies aim primarily at slot 1 of the party.
2. Both Aquadance and Jaded are what are called Physical elements.
There are three Physical elements (Water, Earth, and Air) and three Magical elements (Light, Shadow, and Fire.
Physical elements power their attacks using the Physical Damage stat, which is powered by their Strength stat. They do not use the Magical Damage stat at all.
Likewise, Magical elements use the Magical Damage stat, which is powered by the Intelligence stat, and do not use the Physical Damage stat at all.
However, if you look at Aquadance and Jaded's gear, both of them have two Magic/Int-type equips and two Disciple equips. The Big alarm is that their Relics specifically are Int-type; Relics give a boost directly to the damage stat matching the type of the relic, so having one of the wrong sort on a pet means it gets none of the benefit
(Disciple relics, being the "all rounder" gear type which focus on neither of the two types, boost both Damage stats with the detriment of giving a lower boost to the base stats)
Additionally, their gear has a lot of Uncommon pieces, which is just. kinda bad- always look to replace it asap!
As a Water element who will be running as your Tank, Aqua needs Assassin gear, which will boost her Strength and her Agility (agility controls Defences and Evasion, vital for a tank pet)
As an Air element, Jaded should be given Myrmidon gear, to boost his Strength and Dexterity (dexterity controlling Accuracy and Critical Hit Rate, which are things an Attacker element* wants)
(Dexterity and Agility control a pet's speed equally- 300 dex and 100 agi is the same speed as 100 dex/300 agi or 200 dex/200 agi)
(* Air and Fire are the two dedicated Attacker elements; high focus on direct damage, crits, and damaging debuffs.
Earth is a dedicated Tank element, focusing on Taunting enemies into attacking, defence, and survival.
Light can run as tank but is primarily run for its Healer properties, supporting the entire team with full party healing
Water can run as Tank, and later on gains Buffer abilities, Absorbing damage, and able to both buff, defend and somewhat heal party members once it's a high level
Shadow is generally run as a Tank of the survivalist type, inflicting draining debuffs to recover from damage it takes)
I don't have any equips under lv25 I can give you, but I sent over two lv25 legendary relics that you can equip once they get there
You can also get Experience for your pets without needing to battle anything by sending them on Missions (found in the town barracks of Esior, and also in the barracks of the next town, once you unlock the second region. You only start with, I think? two slots, but you can unlock four (total of six, anyway) more in the town's Plaza. You can read more about it in this guide about mission pets and missions.
In addition to exp, missions provide town reputation, gold, ap, and mission satchels (which in turn can contain more gold, healing items, or gear. Very rarely, and essence)
Alternately you can grind in earlier areas, fight in the fest zone (matches the highest level in your party), or use Exp Orbs |
Thank you so so much for taking the time to explain everything to me. I was so lost. I still am a bit, but I can parallel it some with World of Warcraft so I have a decent idea now, I think. Or at least a general idea on how to set a party up better. :) <3 I really do appreciate the help. ^____^
And thank you for sending the gear. That's very kind of you. :) I'm getting pretty close to 25 so I'll be able to use it soon!
I feel so silly using magic stats for physical damage. Live and learn, and I will be changing them as soon I possibly can. Also, thank you for the link. ^_^ I didn't realize it was so in depth here, but I love it!
If there's ever a time I can help you with anything please let me know! <3 And again, thank you so so so much for taking the time for me! It is greatly appreciated!
