So, I just used a genetic mutator on one of my Sylesties and bred it with another without second thoughts..
My question is, Can a Genetic Mutator mutation pass on through breeding?

Also, I spent 35K on that genetic mutator since I didn't want to click buttons 1,500 times..

As long as a pet has a trait, it has the possibility to pass on. It won't a hundred percent of the time - unless the two pets you're breeding both have that trait as a visible - but there's always the possibility.

Breeding is based on what traits a pet has at the time of breeding, and Punnett Square genetics, so if you know how those work, and how trait dominance works you're pretty set for working out the chances of inheritance.

It should be noted that Hidden and Carried traits that pets don't show up in a pet's genetics section unless the pet is gene tested (but they do still HAVE those genetics, and can still pass them on)



Assuming that the breeding in question is Biscuit and Frosting, it's hard to know what the result might be since neither is tested (and can't even guess since I don't know what their TP counts when caught were)
best I can give is:
> IF Biscuit has a Carried trait in M3, offspring have a 50/50 chance of having a visible M3
(though what the vis would be would depend on what Biscuit's Carried M3 was if that were the case. The only way for Visible feathered cherub wings in offspring would be if Biscuit also has the trait carried, since it's the most recessive M3 nixis currently have)

> IF both have a carry in the same slot, there's a 25% chance for a vis, 25% chance of carrying the trait from one parent, 25% the other parent's trait.

> IF they each have carries in different slots, then it's a 25% chance for each that offspring would inherit it as a carry also


Really you can just hit test breed a lot to see if they throw any vis traits, but you could also get them genetested via one of the assorted testing services other players offer in this subforum

Thanks! Frosting and Biscuit are why I was asking the question, as you guessed. If it doesn't turn out right, I can just breed them again, and hope the chances will give me the result I'd like.

do you remember what rarities they were, when you caught them?

I'm pretty sure they were common and maybe two stars..? Not sure.

Also woah, why do I suddenly have a Zolnixi Essence? It just popped up in my inventory, pretty sure in the place of where there was once a potion??? Uhh.

If they were both Common, then all offspring will be the same result gentically- Carried Feathered Cherub Wings and nothing else, since neither parent has any other traits.


Essences can drop from battle and nurturing, along with some other ways, but I expect in this case it will be one of those two
