Advancement points.
Earned through progressing the plot, from battling (within parameters)/nurturing, breeding, doing missions, etc.
Used for buying avatar base item (like eyes, noses, ears), more outfit save slots, more generator save slots, party preset save slots.

Intended that there will someday be an AP shop (which is the reason for the cap), which will give more use for them

When you reach 10,000 AP, you also can hire a stable hand. Also, I've never personally gotten AP from nurturing, so be wary if you're trying to use that as a way to get AP.

you get 1 AP from every 10 nurtures, if I remember right (I cannot check since my AP count's frozen since it's over 100k), and it doesn't mention it in the nurture log

I can't buy avatar items with AP. Is this normal?

the only things purchasable with AP are in the 'avatar base styles' section of the wardrobe, rather than the 'avatar items' section. you can filter things purchasable with AP, dias, etc.

I'm pretty sure you can also use AP to buy more public design slots in the generator, since the base limit is ten. So the wardrobe is not the only place you can spend some AP ^^

Edit: and as Scath noted, more party preset save slots. Scath is on top of it!

haha yeah when i said 'only things' i did mean avatar wise :P bad wording on my end!
