Hi! I first joined back in 2020 and haven't played in a few years and was wondering if anything had changed? Any new species? New events? New mechanics?
Also, if I could get some advice for starting up again that would be appreciated, as I'm a little lost trying to find my way around again lol

Hello Wafflequeen! Welcome back ^^
Is there anything I can do to help?
Also, feel free to take a look at my stable/hatchery and pick out a free pet!

Mostly the same, Nytes and Faes have had their revamps.
(they use an updated regenerator, so they don't function the same as the prior revamps- traits they had prior to the revamp remain recorded as what they have to pick from when regenerating)
uuhh let's think...
> Lost Grove restricted traits are now fully released (no idea if you were present for their initial release, it'd depend on when you last played in 2020)
> LG Res trait Extractors and Scrolls now exist
> New non-LG res trait sets released
>> See res/maj guide for more info
> Lost Grove's third area, The Temple, released
> Lost Grove Mythical equipment, Primordial tier, released
> Lost Grove Material Exchange added to the Lost Grove Barracks
> Official Changelog thread created
> Hatchery revamped
(> Nurturing Grounds released in early 2020, but, depends on if you were last on before or after early february)
> Egglings/hatchlings now need to be moved to the stables in order to be put up for public sale (private sales do not need to be moved. Egglings and Hatchlings in the stables can still be nurtured per usual and still show up in Nurturing Grounds searches)
> login uses email rather than username now for higher security
> sylestia moved servers so is a bit faster now
> you can now apply a Bonding type material (eg, sticky goo) to a brew/sculpture/plant that doesn't have blood/water/fertilizer on it to lock a carried trait slot in (since brews have 1 carry by default without the additives I believe)
> assortment of smaller changes that get put into the changelog threads rather than having their own thread made for them
