Create a Sylestia Valentine
Rules
No Reserving Posts
1. You must create a Sylestia themed Valentine using real life arts and crafts. Any types of materials may be used as long as your finished item is Sylestia themed and resembles a Valentine.
2. You must provide at least 3 progress pictures of the creation of your Valentine. Each picture must include your Sylestia Username and the Date. You must upload your pictures to an image uploading site, such as http://imgur.com. Failing to follow this rule will automatically disqualify your entry.
3. In order to qualify as an entry, the entry must look like it actually required effort. Please do not just throw something together in 5 minutes with the goal of just simply earning the Participation Prizes. Faiona and I will be the sole judges of what we deem to qualify or not. We obviously are not going to be judging on skill for this part so as long as you actually put forth effort to make something, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. We just want to see everyone who participates put forth some effort as we feel that makes the Prizes fair to everyone. =)
A Player Guide on How to Upload Images
4. You must submit your own entry. You cannot share an entry with other Players. You can, however, work together with other players on your own entries. You just have to of been the one to make it and the one to submit it.
5. The due date for submitting your entry is by the end of the Week of Love Event.
Prizes
There will be prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. All entries will be judged and the winners will be selected by the Admins.
There will be a Participation Prize as well.

First time doing one of these, so I decided to make a star- crossed Ryori, in search of her lost love!
Edit: After getting intimidated by some of the other entries (some of y'alls stuff is just...wow!) I decided to add more stuff to mine. So I got thinking, where would a star-crossed Ryori look for her lost love anyways? Then I thought, where do things get lost, which led me to forest, which led me to dream sequence. Which involved utilizing skills I don't really use, such as paper folding. And painting.
First I made the head. I actually made two versions of the head because I didn't like the first one.
Then I did the body and the legs! Turning the legs was a bit of a struggle, just because the pieces were so tiny.
Attached the head to the body...
And then I made the neck (ghost?) Fluff and the tail! Neck fluff was not fun to turn.
Fineally I added a lil heart and the orbs, and took a few glamor shots to highlight the posebility (I jointed the legs)
It does look really awkward from the front, making the head was a struggle
For the forest section, I used a paper pattern for a kitsune mask, partly because I liked the shape and partly because it reminded me of a Zolnixi. I'm not going to put up steps of making the entire past, mostly because it took forever and was a pain in the butt to assemble. Anyways, here's the finished, unpainted product!
After making the mask, I struggled for a bit over what color I wanted to make it. Ended up going with a rustic, wooden look, and I'm actually really happy with how it came out! I don't paint often, which makes me even more happy about this.
Then I started on the actual assembly of the forest. I started with a layer of poly-fil, to keep the shape, add stability, and to give a ghostly vibe to the entire project.
I added the branches and the moss and voila! Finished project! Even more happy with it than my original Ryori.

I started out not really knowing what I was doing because I lean more toward abstract, but I ended up with a winged heart. Oil pastel on recycled paper bag.
Tore the paper bag into squares
Drew the heart shape then skipped to the wings because I got bored
Filled in the heart, which was not originally going to have purple in it
Lots of blending and started on the background. The top part reminds me of a sunset or a crown.
Finished product! Probably should have used the blank side of the paper...

I decided to go with an Aeri themed Valentine that could be hung off a wall, etc.. Something to cheer up my desk at the office until I give it to my niece!
Items used: construction paper, highlighter, red & Black in pen, scissors, tape, a string off a pom pom. I wanted to challenge myself and use only what I had at my desk! *Note, ended up not using the green.
I will never cut out another heart if I can help it.
The beginning, gather of materials in one spot.
Cutting and taping, outline of ideas.
More hearts!!
Antenna made an appearance, outlines, and more hearts!
More hearts, wanted to keep it simple and sweet but want more too...BE MINE...finished product! I may bling this out, if so will update.

Hey, just a heads up! You might want to go and edit your progress photos to include your username and date. Wouldn't want you to be disqualified or anything.

I hope it's okay that I scratched out the date on one of the sticky notes and added the new date as I was working on this xD I have been trying to save most of my sticky notes for other art projects I am working on that I have actually been selling. I also couldn't make up my mind on specific colors I wanted certain parts to be, so the colors do change a bit as I was getting farther along in the piece lol.
Media/Items used: Acrylic paint, oil paint, paint markers, resin over the orbs, real beads for the Elemental Tail, and heart shaped rhinestones.
