MotD: Fall Festival Scheduled To Begin Between 10/18 and 10/25
Update: It is now 18Oct24, which means no further bets may be placed. Now we wait for the actual start of Fall Festival and see who wins!

MotD: Fall Festival Scheduled To Begin Friday, 10/25!
Please note that prizes will not go out until after the Festival has actually begun.
Let's try this again! This betting pool is just for fun. It works mostly like any other pool, with a minor adjustment to deal with the fact that, in Sylestia, it isn't possible to send gold directly to another player. (I am not yet prepared to handle Diamond entries.)
1. Decide on what day you think the Autumn Festival will actually begin. Please note that you don't have to guess a day that is actually in the MotD. Summer Festival 2024 began on a day that wasn't in the MotD, remember. If no one guesses the correct day, I have to return all the bets, which is a pain.
2. Post your guess here. Do ping me. And don't PM me. (This is an exception to my usual rule.) Repeat: you are allowed to guess a date that does not fall within the range given in the MotD!
3. Immediately before or after posting your guess, send me one or more items that are suitable for being sold back to the game. Examples are a Fairy Mushroom or a piece of Equipment. It is perfectly okay to bet one Fairy Mushroom, but remember, the more you bet, the larger your share of the prize if you are a winner. I will document your guess and your bet and then accept your trade. Please do me a favor and also make a note of exactly what item(s) you sent, for your own record and also in case I goof and accidentally accept your trade before documenting it.
I will sell the items to the game to create the Autumn Festival Pool. Once the Autumn Festival actually starts, I will divide the Pool proportionately among all who guessed correctly. (Since I am still learning how to run a pool, there won't be a vig--that is, I won't get a percentage.) I'll PM each winner to let them know how much they've won. Then each winner mushrooms me for the amount of their prize. I will return the item you send so that you lose nothing when claiming your prize--even Fairy Mushrooms, though I am afraid Piccolo now expects everyone to give him permission to eat them.
Hey, I resemble that remark!
Special note for this Festival: my anniversary is on 31Oct, and I think my spouse is planning some kind of surprise. This could cause a delay in handing out the prize(s), for which I apologize in advance.
13Oct24: The pool finished at 164,638 gold.
25Oct24: Fall Festival began today, 25Oct24. Congratulations to winners Macaroons and Squarebug! Thank you to everyone who participated.
