Genetic Tests is to test a pet and see if it has any carried traits. If the pet is newly hatched it will also allow you to see the mutation colors and traits early. Some people have an unlimited test kit and since it's non-tradeable, they allow you to send your pet to them for testing before it is sent back. If you see italics in a pet's traits it means that trait is carried.
Such as my Daughter of Night here
Her traits are:
Gene One: Tiger Stripes
Gene Two: Cecropia Markings
Gene Three: Ancient Runes
Mutation One: Back Spikes
Mutation Two: Jeweled Horns
Mutation Three: Essence of Flames
If she wasn't tested, I wouldn't know that Tiger Stripes, Ancient Runes, and Jeweled Horns were carried, those slots would look blank

It means someone would be happy to test your pets for you. Genetic testing kits are expensive, and not very many people can afford them. You put that pet up for sale to that user for 1g, they buy it, test it, and sell it back to you for 1g.

Some people (including myself) own the unlimited use genetic tester from the diamond shop. Some people offer free testing on pets so that you can find out their carries. All you do is set your pet for the person testing and they will use their unlimited use tester on your pet and then set them back. This way you can find out the carries your pets have without spending money on 1 use testers.

Thank you! :D okay that would make sense, then I guess I should keep an eye out for when someone offers because I have a few pets I'm curious to see if they carry any genes =3

I can test a few for you if you'd like! My ID is 17165. Please note you can't test eggs and you can't test generated pets. :) Just post the links to your pets once they are set to me.

Oh really?! You'd do that? =3 How many pets? Because I have 6 that I'm really curious about: 1 in my hatchery and 5 in my stables. Do you have a limit on how many pets you can test?
