Summary A thousand years had passed since the sealing of the Ginnungagap, and as per his promise, Ratatosk, Summon Spirit of the Giant Kharlan Tree and Lord of all Monsters, released Richter from his thousand-year prison. Originally, Ratatosk had planned to remain alone, content with directing the flow of mana from his home. However, the summon spirit was convinced otherwise by his friends, and with the company of the red-haired half-elf, decided to journey once more, to see how the world now was.
Plot / Problems It has been slightly over a thousand years since the events of Dawn of the New World, also known as Knight of Ratatosk, and with the laws of the world rewritten, much has changed, and new problems arises. Firstly, humans, with the knowledge that the once mana-dependant world no longer needed as much mana as before to sustain itself, created far more magitechnology, exploiting the fact that now, mana could be used more liberally than before.
Secondly, despite the attempts of Ratatosk and Richter, demons now walked among men, having escaped before the final battle at the Ginnungagap. Of these demons, there were those who merely wished to live peacefully in the new world, having despised the dog-eat-dog world back at home. Others, however, are still after Ratatosk's life, seeking to destroy the main obstacle that prevents them from opening the gate to their home.
Thirdly, discrimination still persists, and while it had improved over the years, the inclusion of half-demons, who have been mistaken for a new 'breed' of half-elves, fuels the hate between races, and tensions to run high. Fear of another war is rampant throughout the land. Yet, there are a small amount of half-elves and elves, who have long forgone the differences between races, who act as mediators between races, and it is due to them that the flames of war have not yet consumed the land.
Lastly, Sylvaranti and Tethe'allans still bear feelings of hate and fear towards the other, and a small arms race between the still divided countries has occurred. The introduction of new organisations throughout the land similar to the Church of Martel and the Vanguard from ages past does not help ease tensions, and small skirmishes still occur. However, the leaders of the two countries have tried as best they can to establish peace, but with limited land and resources, the peace kept is fragile.
The fate of the world rests upon your actions, heroes. Do not fail it.

~ Cursing by characters are allowed, but only minor cursing, like hell, damn, darn... etc.
~ No God-Modding, Power-Modding, Meta-Gaming, Auto-Hitting, Etc.
~ Semi-literate.
~ No Character limit.
~ Canon Characters are allowed, but we'll figure out details for this as we go.
~ Rp is Private, for Zenaku and Soltra8 only unless something changes.

1st July 2015 - A bright light is seen shining from the Forbidden Gate; imperial troops of Tethe'alla dispatched to investigate source and reason behind it. Sylvarant government turns to guilds for aid - they fear that it is a ploy and that upon reaching the Gate, Tethe'allans will attack them. It will take the troops and guild reinforcements not already near Luneria and Malvyis a couple days to reach their destination.

Changes Forbidden Gate: Originally known as Ginnungagap/Otherwordly Gate, but has since been renamed to Forbidden Gate, in reference to the strong fog that surrounds it, and the increased number of monsters. Both sides fear this place, and it rests in the 'demilitarised zone'.
Luneria: Simple yet modern Tethe'allan village near the Forbidden Gate. Rests in the demilitarised zone alongside village Malvyis. Despite Malvyis being a Sylvaranti village, Lunerians get along with Malvyians and vice versa, partly because of the mixed Tethe'allan and Sylvaranti blood that runs through the veins of the people. Luneria has more advanced technology than Malvyis and is half a day's travel from the Forbidden Gate, 4-5 days from Altamira and a couple hours' walk to Malvyis.
Malvyis: Simple yet modern Sylvaranti village near the Forbidden Gate. Rests in the demilitarised zone alongside village Luneria. Meltokio: Capital of Tethe'alla. Over the years, the technology here has improved drastically, making this one of the hubs of science of Tethe'alla. Sybak, however, still remains the best place for magitechnology and the like, with most breakthroughs coming from there rather than the capital. Rumor has it that the Tethe'allans are up to something, but no one knows for sure.
Palmacosta: Sylvarant's capital. Over the years, the once technologically backwards country has now almost returned to its glorious days as a dynasty. With major political overhauls - the leading government is still rather democratic, however - Sylvarant has changed drastically, and has almost caught up to the technology of Tethe'alla. However, their rivals always seem to be ahead of them, no matter what they do. The dynasty ruins are under repair, with the leading goverment hoping to 'move in' to the repaired ruins and implement a King or Queen
