A most majestic and beautiful Griffi appears before you. She is unlike anything you have ever seen before...her feathering and patterns are unique, you have never seen these mutations and genes on a Griffi before.

She tentatively walks toward you and gently nuzzles you, you get the feeling that she is asking for a name and wants you to take her home.



Rules

Create a backstory and name for the Griffi. Please keep the story manageable for me, keep in mind that I have to read through all of the entries submitted. For her name, you may use commas or apostrophes. You may only submit one entry.

The contest will end at the end of the festival.

Prizes

Everyone that participates will receive the forum title The Majestic. The rest of the stories will be read through by myself and Krinadon, the one that we like the best will receive the exclusive 4 Visible Majestic Peacock Griffi with the name provided from the story. Starfall

Starfall was from a distant star. She lived there in solitude watching over the Earth below. She was a protector, regal, serene, but lonely. One day as she watched over all the happy sylesti below frolicking with their families she decided she could no longer bare to be so alone and that she would come down to the Earth and walk among the common sylesti as one of them. She came down like a shooting star. A mass of shining energy and plummeted to the Earth only to land gracefully, her head held high as was only fitting for one so majestic as she. The gathered crowd of stunned sylesti and their owners gasped in awe. What was her name they asked in waves. But she was at a loss. Being so isolated she had never needed to have a name. "Starfall" They whispered. "Your a shooting star" It was from that day on that Starfall remained among the sylesties, never lonely and always loved, a living Goddess, kind and generous, full of love, life and happiness.

I gently touched Griffi, fingers brushing the patterned fur. "Ilamayil, young peacock." I whisper the words, and Ilamayil nuzzled me again, bobbing her head. "A name most fitting." I held out my hand, walking along. To my immense pleasure, Ilamayil followed, folding her wings and bobbing her head. "I would believe that you do not need a stable, as you may roam free." Ilamayil looked at me, and I looked back into her eyes. She then folded her legs, fluttering her wings a bit. "You want me to ride you?" The Griffi seemed to understand. She turned her head, nodding once.

Cascade
A long time ago, there was a lovely pair, a King and Queen. They were Krinadon and Faiona, and they owned a glorious castle. One day, the Queen was overtaken by a craving for gardening. And as her birthday was near, her King had a marvelous secret garden built for her.

This garden held many acres of their land, it was filled with luscious trees, flowers, ivy, and monuments. Beautiful Spanish moss blowing in the breeze beneath the weeping willows adorned the many trees, such as the rose trees and peach trees. Flowers of all sorts carpeted the ground, and ponds, streams, and statues were scattered all about.

In fact, the secret garden was so lovely, an ancient bird of the skies flew over it just to admire it. This magical creature shed three feathers over the garden, which landed in a silver pool nestled beneath the griffi fountain. On the first night of winter, a full moon lit the pool... And the pieces united to create a beautiful peacock griffi.

This griffi was deeply admired by all who saw it perch among the tall walls of the garden. It, however, could not leave. But on the wall, it developed a strong bond with a Sylestian who named her Cascade, for the beautiful colors of her glistening feathery coat. The Queen watched them exchange words from the windows of her many towers, and decided, as a Winter Fest gift, to grant the griffi to the Sylestian, as loyal companion..
