Now, as you can see, their colours are so muddy and pale that you can't appreciate all of their traits, so I'm now holding a design contest in order to give them a beautiful dye job and have an attractive pair from which I can sell babies. This contest is a part of the Dov Lahvraan Carnival being held by Dovah Mir, in celebration of the wonders of the Ny'vene. So please help me by coming up with a new colour scheme for these two! The rules, prize list, as well as some suggestions follow.
The Rules
1. Go to the generator and load the image URL of one of the pets. Change the colours (but not the traits!) and post your design (both male and female versions) in this thread. You can ping me, but it isn't necessary to qualify -- I'll be keeping a close eye on the thread and all posted entries will count.
2. You may submit only ONE (1) design to the contest. Editing posts to change your design is allowed up until the contest end date.
3. You may use as many different colours as you like. There is no limit of the number of dyes that can be used and this will not be a factor I consider when choosing winners.
4. You can feel free to give a name to your design, and it may considered positively when I judge the entries, but it isn't necessary to enter.
5. I will choose winners from the designs submitted, but I reserve the right to alter my final design choices as I see fit, or not use any of the submitted designs at all when deciding how I want to re-dye my breeding pair.
6. This contest will end Monday, February 8th at 11:59 pm. The winners will be posted sometime during the afternoon of February 9th, or at the latest, February 10th.
The Prizes
1st Place - The first offspring (infertile) from the re-dyed breeding pair + 150 diamonds
2nd Place - A max-stat offspring (infertile) from the undyed pair + 50 diamonds
3rd Place - A max-stat offspring (infertile) from the undyed pair
Participation Prizes! - Depending on how many entries this contest gets, I will either give everyone a participation prize at random, or raffle them off to a certain number of people, with each entry counting for one ticket. These prizes will be Ny'vene from the earlier generations of the stat project. They may or may not be named or bred, but I will be using an infertility kit on them prior to giving them away to protect the work I've done on this project.
You may do whatever you please with your prizes, including re-dye them, re-name them, or give them to others.
Suggestions
I welcome any design you want to come up with, but I have a few suggestions in line with my aesthetic preferences which you may choose to take into consideration when coming up with the colour scheme:
- I do not generally like extremely dark colour schemes. I like to still be able to see the outlines on the pets and prefer dark colours used as accents or carefully so as not to obscure too much of the design.
- I'm not keen on neon colours unless they're used sparingly as part of an overall bright design. "Rave" style designs with neon on black are not to my personal taste.
- I like jewel tones, greens, purples, reds, blues, golds, silvers, and sometimes bright pastels as well.
Of course, there is no wrong design! If it looks good overall, it can defy every one of the "suggestions" and I might still like it best, so feel free to be as creative as you like :)

I absolutely adore how this colour scheme is neutral without being boring, with that icy pop of colour in the flames. I think this will be a great design for people to customize to their liking, as well, because it would only need 1-2 dyes to look really different.

I really enjoyed how many shades of blue you managed to fit into this design without it looking too monochromatic. There's so much depth to the design!
Participation Prizes
Ny'Vene from the earlier generations of the stat project for all of you! They may or may not be named or bred, but I've made them infertile regardless, so it should matter too much. You may do with them whatever you'd like.
These aren't listed in any particular order, so just look for your username or search the page with CTRL+F (or the Apple equivalent). All pets should be ready to go home with you, but please ping me if I screwed up on yours and for some reason you can't buy it for 1 gold.

Presenting the sunshine/golden Ny'vene (lol maybe you can come up with a more fancy name):
(You can also just choose to not dye the Jeweled Horns, as they don't make as much of a difference as some of the other markings they have)

I just thought I'd have a go at this, cause I think it might do ok. xD I usually create bright coloured ones, but I think that the Ny'vene needs more of a dark colourisation.

I know that this is probably a bit dark as such, but I liked the darkish colours on it, cause it was probably the only way I could fully see all of the markings that these two lovely pets have. Of course, I know that black isn't one of your favourite combinations, but I thought it went well with the traits.

I've been kind of stuck with coming up with sunset themes xD Originally I thought of a nice blue/white/bit of black color scheme, but this came out somehow, haha.

Oh, I really like this, nightfury! You kept the black manageable and left a lot of the linework and structure of the 'Venes visible, just how I prefer. Nice job :)
