Title: Portrait Practice Activity
Type: Technical
Start Date: July 8th
End Date: August 8th

Description:
This is a technical challenge. Using a photo of a person from a different culture than your own, create an accurate portrait of them with the medium of your choice. You may use a picture from the linked gallery, or one of your own. Try to capture the expression and feel of the person in the photo.

I hope that this activity not only serves as portrait practice, but also gives ideas for how to design clothes and characters for future reference due to the uniqueness of how each culture is depicted. In a way, it should also further future creativity.

Lastly, if anyone has any tips or links to references on how to draw portraits for everyone to see, please share! Feel free to discuss as well.

Note: Here is an alternative link for portrait images that are larger in size, but due to the sheer number of images, a few may be unsuitable for those under 16. So please view at your own discretion. The images are sorted by Photographer. Click an image to see more by that particular photographer. Use this gif I created as instructions on how to get a larger version of a particular image.

Although I want the participation to be intrinsically motivated rather than extrinsically, I decided to include a choice of a small prize which will be randomly given to one or two participants by randomizing the list of participants.
