So I know how to generate the referral link, but on a few other games I play that do referrals and clicking on the pets to help them grow faster, if someone joins after clicking on your pet, you get credit. Does it work that way here too? Or is it only if they get here through the referral link? I just wanted to check before I put any of my eggs in forum signatures on other sites.

To my knowledge, I'm pretty sure that it's only via the referral ID, and it doesn't count if they don't sign-up without inputing that ID. Clicking on pets doesn't give you credits or referral points, so it couldn't probably count :3

Of course, I could be wrong, but I think that's the only way ^^;

Well, I just checked. Referral-Link really just fills in your referral ID to the appropriate field if you came to the site through it (and it does so even in a new tab, after searching a pet... well-done, I'd say).

Clicking on register from a pet profile page doesn't fill in the referral ID for me, so it wouldn't count.

I'm not sure if you can put a pet profile page WITH referral tag somewhere... pet profile pages would be neat options for landing pages in the referral tools, too.

EDIT: Just tried. You can add a referral tag to the pet profile page... but you have to manually change the link to do so.

(Basically like this: http://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=114250&referral=44A1B665CCEDA52001AA - this links to my Aurleon Queroo, and if you then click on Register, you'd be registered as referred by me.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE THE ABOVE LINK FOR YOURSELF. You can use it, but you have to change both the pet ID, AND the referral ID for it to actually refer to you.)

Ah well, too bad. I've noticed you tend to get more referrals when people see the pets first than just sending them to the homepage of sites. But if it doesn't work that way here, that's fine. Thank you both for helping!

Yes, just add the "?referral=356A192B7913B04C5457" to any Sylestia link. This will tie a new person's computer to that referral ID as long as they don't clear their browser cache or were already tied to someone else.
