I can't seem to get anywhere fighting this guy. I can get him to about 50% HP, but by the time I take out his minions he's already recovered about 75% of his HP. I get him back down to 50% and the process repeats.

Am I doing something wrong? Are my pets just not good enough? Any help would be appreciated.

That's it. Sorry Sylestia, but I'm done with you. When I picked up this game it looked very promising; I could see myself playing it a lot. But after further playing, I discovered that this game's bosses contains one of my biggest pet-peeves; unnecessary difficulty. Even with hours of time spent grinding you can find the bosses to seem impossible. The later bosses all seem to take extremely diverse strategies just to even have a chance. And frankly, I don't have time to set such stuff up.

You were fun, Sylestia, but I've had my fill of frustration from you.

So..after barely a month you decided to give up?

I do not know what equipment you used but I am thinking that sometimes you have to bite the proverbial bullet and reset and reallocate your level up and proficiency points.

I had to do that a few times too and may have to do it again. Yeah, it can be frustrating but don't give up just because you hit a snag.

Actually I am surprised you made it to level 60 in such a short time of being here so maybe you need to use your "Finishing Blow" right off the bat with the boss to knock him down and keep whacking away while restoring mana with the other attacks and keep using "Finishing Blow"

Anyways..I bought your Multibear so if you reconsider I can send him back to you.

Sorry to hear that you're frustrated with this, since I feel the challenge in boss battling makes the game more interesting for me. But I understand different people have different preferences for the games they play. And there are other aspects of the game you can play even if you do not want to battle. I do know quite some players who specialise in breeding projects, because they love the artwork of the pets and do not really enjoying battling.

It's hard for me to give you specific advice, since your pets have been removed from your party, and may have been bought by others already. But, the main thing would be to choose between strength and intelligence for your party pets, upgrade your equipment to legendary whenever possible, and make sure your proficiency tree and equipments match the stat profile you've chosen.

For boss battles, it helps to go to a lower zone to max health and mana so that you can use finishing blows from the start of the boss battle. And use mend when your pet's health falls below 75% if you can. Take note of your battle log since there may be patterns that you can avoid to help you win the battle.

For vorpar, there is a symbol that appears before he stuns your pets, so you'll have to block that move. And I believe you have to defeat the minions during the plane shift, because any health remaining in them would be transferred to vorpar at the end. He's hard but not impossible, yes its frustrating when he can heal up to 15 turns with no damage being taken off, but if you fight smart he shouldn't be a problem. Watch out for his tidal wave, kill his minions quickly since it interrupts his healing/protection thing and wham him with your finishing moves when possible. You have to make enough damage so that when he heals it is still below the amount of damage you already inflicted on him.

I have to admit that Vorpar is a pain and sadly my whole team got whupped.

I tried taking out my magic user and putting in another physical fighter but it was not enough.
I wonder if I reallocate my magic fighters points to Shadow and use Siphon if that helps even things up.

On the other hand it is hard to keep channeling all my fighters on one minion at a time too so this is why I am favoring an attack that hits more than one enemy but it takes so long to regain mana that I cannot afford to keep whamming Vorpar with Finishing blows as soon as I have a few mana points as I need them for healing too.

I just need a good strategy.

Odd because I had my health fighter go the light tree route so I can gain a few hp every turn(yes I know dark tree has a harder his but only heals the user not the party) What gear to you have? Orange works great even for lesser gears. ( my other int fighter is shadow and my strength fighter has the wind tree I think) What kind of healing items do you have? if you have the 1600-2400 you shouldn't need to use the healing every time and you could stagger finishing blows. I usually focus on one minion at a time, but you could always go fire tree for the multiple targets, it could help) . Try to time it so that you block for the tidal wave or else you sylestis end up unable to take action for 5 tuns which really can destroy your team. Uh, I can't really say what you need to fix or do unless I know what your strategy was to begin with.

Ok..my tank, Regal Cutlass, has the Earth Proficiency...my fighter, Sparkwind has the Air Proficiency and my magic user, NightMyst, has the Light Proficiency.

Regal has mostly Legendary and one Epic
NightMyst has Legendary and Epic and Rare
Sparkwind has Epic and Legendary.

I tried beating Vorpar using two physical fighters but, like I mentioned, it doesn't leave an opportunity for multiple enemy hits or healing.

The light proficiency is good but its healing attribute is dismal even when I use Fairy Lights.
I guess what I need to do is pay extra attention to who does what and block whenever I can.

My aggravation is that the stoopid minions heal themselves after the first round so one must take care not to waste Finishing blows until the next round.
Even with my pets at level 60 the minions are a pain so I need to find something good which means I may have to do some tasks from Ethernia in order to get some better gear. It's ok. It's not like I am in a hurry, after all I haven't even finished the Dungeon of the Forsaken yet so that is probably a cakewalk compared to Vorpar.

Luckily once I got past the ambushing elves the rest is easier-even the boss fight. I never use the finishers against the minions, it is a waste since it means you can use it against vorpar. You might try saving up for a max stat pet, even one can be extremely helpful, or just for high stats ( I've seen them at 300k(gold) or lower, they are infertile when sold usually but one of the best helps is having max stat health since it means you do not need to buffer it as much with your level up points) Earth is okay for strategy but if you want a damager air is better ( I"m guessing you use earth to bolster your tank since it is mainly defensive) I chose light and dark since both can heal and dark has the added bonus of more damage. Keep at it, I didn't think I'd ever beat forsaken dungeon but managed so good luck and keep trying!

Well, the reason I used Earth for my tank is that I got the impression this was a good thing to have.
Sparkwind, my fighter, is Air and is pretty decent and I am torn between keeping NightMyst in the Light Proficiency or training another in Fire or shadow.

Shadow is good as it can cause siphon but, the way the game is right now, I think the pets can only go to 60 (or is it 65) and having only one proficiency point for every five levels makes it a bit tedious then one is forced to rely on expensive relics and such.

There are so many variables that I am not sure there is one single "right" way to do it.

Maybe I should just go with what works for me instead of trying to tailor my team to what others think I should do...I do not mean to say that others do not have good ideas 'cause they do but I am beginning to think there is no single right way as long as certain criteria are met, right?

Anyways, thanks....I guess I should not be so focused on completing dungeons and just do tasks and missions.
