I'm making a thread to document the progress of my first breeding project. (And maybe see if it gets any interest!) The intended end result looks like this:
I chose to make my first project a Faelora project because they don't seem to get much notice. The species is one of my favorites in concept, and I wanted a project to show some of its potential.
Other name ideas are: Foggy Dew, Misty Moss, Foggy Woods
(I'll take suggestions.)

First progress post--Not such a good start.
I generated my first pair of faes. The first one:
The left one is the real result, and the right the intended:
G2: Numbat
M1: Ghostly Aura
I've heard of color swing, but this....
The second half of the pair was more cooperative.
M1: Ghostly Aura
M3: Fae Dust
Should I breed with Miss Purple anyway, and use dyes on the end result?
Edit: I generated the second pair, and the second male had almost the exact same color swing! I'd better avoid breeding them directly together...
Wow, I've been really slow on this. XD I pretty much almost abandoned it for periods. But I now have my first two visible traits!
Adults:
Unfortunately, the color swing is still very evident. I'm hoping that in future generations it will begin to correct itself, but I may still end up needing dyes.

Just want to say these are really pretty! One of my first projects was a fae, so it's cool to see someone else working with them! :D
Sorry to see that your regular essence didn't cooperate with you ^^;; I would do what you said, and wait to use dyes on the final pair. It's always possible that the color swing in the offspring could correct itself as you keep breeding! I've saved myself many dyes that way =w=)b
Anyway, I'd love to be on the interest list. I have a couple extra fae essences too if they would help you!
Edit: I just spotted the other thread you made asking questions about projects - if you have any specific questions while you're working on this I'd be more than happy to help if needed! ^-^

Thank you! I'm glad you like them. And I'll keep you in mind if I have more questions.
Another essence would be very helpful! I'm working with three, so it's doable right now, but a fourth would make this faster.

I love fea but they need more traits-not fond of the skull one for example. Your project is a nice one, foggy woods sounds pretty good as a name for it (misty forest does too) but something with dewdrop could work too since the fea dust kinda looks like dew. Anyway keep trying, if need be you could always breed a second line solely for color and once satisfied try incorporating them into your trait line, for now I'd just focus on traits.

they look realy preaty, don't wory about the colors it will be relatively easy to fix at the end of the project. Congrats on your 2 visible, as he is a male it will make it easyer to reatch your 4 vis goal quickly. ^-^
