I saw the contest button in the Seasonal Festival part, so i clicked in there. But how do you participate in one?

Fighting pets in the Festival Zone, nurturing eggs/hatchling or releasing pets.
For the "Enemies Defeated" contest you need to add to your party the species you wish to participate with. For example: if your party is formed of 3 Zolnixis, each enemy you defeat (pet, bandit or named) will earn you 3 points towards the Zolnixi contest. If your party has 1 Morkko, 1 Vulnyx and 1 Puffadore, each enemy you defeat will earn you 1 point towards each of those contests.
For the "Pets Nurtured" and "Pets Manually Released", every time you nurture or release a pet of a certain species you will earn a point towards that species' contest.
