You start with a goal. What colors/genes do you want? Then you find/generate pairs with the desired colors and genes. Purchasing is easiest when you are wanting to breed event pets, generating otherwise.

Make sure that if you're breeding with genes in different slots that you have more than one pair to get visible. There's a breeding guide if you need help understanding how the genetics work.

Well I'm just going to go ahead and say that you're either going to need A LOT Of essences and A LOT of patience to get a 6-vis. As it is there isn't even a 6-vis in existence on the site yet. So hypothetically you get 2 pets that carry the 6 genes you want, the chances of getting a 6-vis from them is about 1 in 4096.

On average you'd get a 1 or 2 visible from this pair. However what you'd want to aim for is a 4-vis from this pair, and breed it with another 6-carry. This would decrease the chances from 1 in 4096 to 1 in 256. With that you'd want to try to get a 5-vis once again raising your odds to 1 in 128.

Then you'd want to take an unrelated 4-vis from the same original pair and breed it with the 5-vis, making the 4 genes GUARANTEED to show. At this point your odds would be 1 in 8 for a 6-vis.

Now the main point here is how do you get 2 6-vis that are unrelated? Well you'll need a BUNCH of essences. I'm not sure how many off the top of my head. Probably about 4 maybe a couple extras just in case the generator has a field day on your pets.

The first 2 pets you would generate would carry 2 different genes each, so for example the male would carry Regal Markings and Fallow Deer. The female would carry Rainbow Lifelines and Tritails. You'd breed them until you'd get 2 4-carry pets. Genders don't matter. Next you'd generate 2 pets carrying Comet Moth Wings and Talismans. Next you'd breed those 2 pairs until you get 2 6-carry pets.
