when you click on a pet you get to the 'page' of this pet, in the section information there is an option called profiencies, click on it. You will then get to the page where you can set the pet's element.

Thank you for your reply :) I have done that already, but what items can you/do you use to only gain in one specific skill? or is there none? I feel like from exploring etc, im just leveling up and not gaining anything specific, but overall.

The skills you have in a proficiency tree relate to your level- you get the first point of stat allocation right off at level 0, the second at 30, and the third at 60 (the stat allocation points will come much closer together with the release of the MegaZone and the increase of the level cap to 75. This is also when level 60+ pets will start to get ability exp/ranks.) These you have to distribute manually.

You unlock the currently available elemental attacks at levels 0 and 30 automatically, however.

You can change a pet's element at any time for 5000gold, which will keep their stat allocation in place.
The same price goes for altering stat point distribution.

As such, for missions pets, you basically just put all their stat points into the stat you want them on missions for, and equip them with stuff that boosts that stat, like Myrmidon equipment for a Dex mission pet. Like this pet, who is our Very Hard Saerielle Agility Mission pet

if you want to increace your stat more you can use better equipment for your party, there is some of the 'new' relic that may give you a bit of help in battle the i can't quit remember what they do exactly.

Also, keep a look out for ravager equipment, like what I have on this strength mission pet:
https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=420907

They have more points in one stat and are perfect for mission pets. Pretty much all of my gear came from missions. They aren't really common, but I'm slowing getting all of my mission pets decked out. :-)
