I am a noob. It's made obvious because I always post dumb questions here. But seriously, why did my sylesti being stabbed by a dagger that exploded out of a crate heal it by a health point?

Is that what the action log said, or did you just observe it?

Both. It said '-1' and my sylesti woke up from being unconscious.

Then it's probably just a bug. If no one else responds here, you could post something in the Bug Reporting subforum. It doesn't seem to have affected anything, though, so it's up to you.
