I was wondering if it was possible to add a restricted trait to a different restricted trait line? For instance, can I add Majestic Peacock Wings to a Galactic offspring?

As long as a pet does not have a trait from the disruptor's set already, the disruptor can be used.

Although I'm kind of confused because there's no "Galactic Peacock" griffi?

These are the two Restricted griffi trait sets and their majestic themes:

- Majestic Peacock; Majestic Peacock, Imperial Peacock, Ember Peacock
- Galactic; Galactic, Guardian Angel

So you could add a majestic peacock trait to a griffi that had galactic traits, or a galactic trait to a griffi with majestic peacock traits, but you couldn't disrupt another MP trait onto a pet that already had at least one MP trait, or another Galactic ttrait onto a pet that already had any Galactic traits.

(... Not quite sure what carried or hidden restricteds count as for disruptors, actually, that seems like it would be a pertinent thing to have in the Guide...)

Actually, Xavion was trying to do this exact thing with one of the Nereid Sylvorpa themes. She wanted to add Water Dragon traits to it. Turns out you cannot use a restricted trait disruptor on a pet that has only restricted traits. The pet must have at least one visible non-restricted trait to use the restricted disruptor. It won't replace one restricted trait of one set with a restricted trait of another set (a costly discovery, for Xav).

Ah, we'll add that to the Restricted/Majestic guide's disruptor section

I thought the pet must not have any non restricted traits at all, for the philter to work.

Edit: Reread the description and it seems like you cannot disrupt the pet again with the same disruptor, it didnt say anything if it is a different trait set. Definitely curious to try once I get my hands on two different types of disruptors!

@Electrifying

I can answer this one already. :)

Hatched with:

Recessive Tree Dryad Antenna
Recessive Tree Dryad Armor
(Both traits obtained through breeding, obviously)

Gave him Scarab philter and he got the gene without any errors or problems, so no issue if there are other restricted traits of a different set on the pet; there just has to be at least one visible that isn't of a restricted set. (As I sorely found out like Mikazukichan mentioned above.)

Alright, thats good to know! Next time I am definitely saving up for another distruptor to get rid of a pine cone butt - the first restricted Trait disruptor did not remove it from my aeri.

By the way, that is one lovely lune!

I'm assuming you mean from this Aeri? :)

With the way the philters work you'll have a 1 in 3 chance of it being removed; the lunar spots and lunar jewelry will still have a chance to be picked over the tail but I do wish you luck! (The result would be very pretty ^^)

(Pinging Scathreoite for this bit as well in case they're unaware! ^^)

Alternately, there is a method of guaranteeing the trait you'll receive by placement of carries. Alicehearts clued me in on this one and I'm eternally grateful for it.

If there's a specific trait slot you want from a restricted set, what you need to do is ensure that all other slots for that restricted set are CARRIES ONLY, and that you have either the trait slot you need as a visible non-restricted trait, or that the slot is empty and there's an eligible non-restricted visible on the pet that can be moved. When the philter is applied, the other traits would be considered "invalid" because of the carries, and ONLY the one you want can be chosen.

So if, for example, you just wanted to add Lunar Tail to an Aeridini project. G2 (gene), M2 (wings), and M3 (jewels) would all have to have carries in their slots. M1 (the tail) would have to be a visible non-restricted trait, or an empty slot as long as there was another visible in G1 or G3 that could replace it. When a philter is used, you would get the tail. :)

As for the Lune, the 6V and the near-maxed stats are my doing, but the design is Fox's Bottled Moonlight Lunemara theme. Fell for them from the start! :D

Ooh, that is indeed pretty!

I am pretty sure the chance is 1/2 rather than 1/3, the Natureguard's Wings will not be removed, will they?
If they might be removed...well, I rather leave him with pinecone butt, because the philters are costly!

I never knew the Bottled Moonlights are Fox's theme! I love their colour schemes!
