There's a counter beneath the player status within each city that says "Current City Badges." How does one earn badges, and what are they for?

@Rune,
Right now Esior's doesn't have badges available (though the counter is still there)
The 2nd town (the haven) you can get badges through participating in the daily raids as well as doing quests
In the 3rd town (Ethernia) you get badges by doing tasks.
This are subject to change though, as the first two areas are being redone. But when it does change there will be an announcement on it, so you'll know!
