My avatar now has shorts instead of a skirt for my adventurer's outfit. I really want it back! How do I and how'd this happen?

You changed to the male base instead of the female base somehow. You can easily fix this by going to your wardrobe and selecting the female base

@Crystal25152, Sylestia only as 2 avatar bases, male (stand straight) base and female (bent leg) base. They use both to make a female and a male version of each outfit. x:
So for that certain wear, you either stand up straight with the shorts, or have a bent leg with the skirt. Sorry. D:
