Sootpaw licked his paw, glancing over the camp. A small breeze rushed through the camp, leaving his fur in another mess. "Great," he muttered. He twisted around and groomed his back the best he could. This was the second time he had done this, and he wanted to get out of camp before it happened again.

Darkstar padded out of her den, flinching as the fresh morning air hit her fur. She padded to the apprentices den, where Sootpaw was sleeping.
"Wake up Sootpaw," She said softly flicking Sootpaw with her tail.

Sootpaw got up from his spot at the entrance and buried the mouse bones he had eaten earlier. Without waiting for Darkstar, the black and white tom padded out of camp.

Darkstar flicked her tail agitated but followed Sootpaw out of camp.
"Let's do battle training today," She said as she caught up to Sootpaw.
