They add a hidden trait to one of the traits your pet plant has.
Thats one thing thats a bit annoying about these supplies: the descriptions of them dont explain what they do, or at the very least, what theyre for 8/.

Hover your mouse over htem in the gardne page, it explains it there.

just to make sure though, as many players get it wrong: It adds a Hidden trait, not a Carried trait- a more recessive trait in the same slot as a visible trait, not one in a no-vis slot
