How do you stack and un-stack items? I read somewhere you hold down the shift button to un-stack, but it's not working...
Also is there any way to see a pet's children?

You are right, to unstack an item you hold shift while clicking the item, and then click an open spot to put the new stack. A little box will pop up asking you how many you want to split off.
And atm there is no way to see a pets children, but eventually that "genealogy" button will be used for that purpose.
