Hello

I just realized that most people I see/read about their teams use Wind Pets to deal the damage, Light as Healing and Dark or Earth as a Tank. But so far as I have seen, rarely anyone uses fire... Why?

This is my party and I travel through the LG quite finely. As far as I know these are all low stat pets. I'm still quite new and honestly I have no idea when a pet is low stat and when it's high stat ^^*)
My Tank (Earth)
My Healer (Light)
My Damage Dealer (Fire)

The combusting of the Fire pet saved me quite a few times. It constantly makes the health of my enemy go down and it's especially helpful if I have a group of enemies.

I battled the named with the two Ferrikkis with no problems. My Earth pet got down to half health, but that was my fault for not paying attention... I didn't used any items in the fights. I also faught 3 Crazed Druids, 3 Ancient Entitys (or how the trees are called) and some other enemies. All using no items...

So.. Am I just lucky, or why does it seem like so little people use fire?

I have my cannon set as a fire pet - Azari. I use her in all my battles, never an air pet. I recently (as in yesterday lol) trained up Elentiya as an air cannon so that I could take down Vierna in the DotF, seeing as you don't want to attack her undead warriors.
So yeah, I always have and always will use Azari in my normal battling as my fire cannon. I'm not sure why most others don't - fire's ability to damage multiple opponents at once makes most battles where you're facing two or three opponents go much faster.

wind does more damage to one enemy- when fighting bosses its much better. i personally hate the fire element, its fine with low level enemies but not boss/elite enemies. my main team is water-light-wind.

Babynlue has always been my fire pet. I don get why fire isnt popular, it targets multiple enemies and is quite handy.

I always have a fire wind light team. Havent gotten instacrushed yet. Just a few knockout blowd dur to me not bing midnful.

I use my earth/light/air team with air as my attacker because I just prefer it (we're currently ranking attacks on a water/light/fire team, though- and my personal preference remains with air because I love using air's Decimate attack against elites and bosses)
All my current Board teams for when contests are on are Light/Fire/Fire, since that's a time we want to mow down as many opponents as we can as fast as we can (but they aren't lv60+ pets that we use in the Grove).

As people have mentioned, Fire is generally considered better for mowing down mobs faster, to Air's singular focus and higher chance to inflict its debuff which is often better against bosses.

(although I can't help but look at your pet's proficiencies and go '?' a little, since unassigned prof points aside those are... definitely not stat setups I'm used to seeing on light and fire pets, but each to their own and if it works for you then that's fine.)

Oh, I definitely use one. In fact, all the teams Ive put together include a Fire pet (though I dont use it in the main lineup of all of them). This is my main team:
Fire Cannon

Shadow Tank

Light Healer

Before I put a Fire pet on this team (Though Acadian wasnt my original one. It was a Qitari named Laothian. I moved him to one of my alternate teams and replaced him with Acadian because Acadian had more HP.), I was getting beaten badly every time (I had just started in Faerinas Shrine at that point.). But adding a third pet, and a Fire one at that, ended up being one of the wisest decisions Ive made since I first started playing, because it was a huge help.

I'm an oddball, I run around with a triple shadow team so that I can zone out while battling (I literally just get to press all the same button). They deal a moderate amount of damage, so they take some time to kill things but not a lot and I can just swap them around if one needs to recover. Less trips to the healer/less TPK and more gold saved for me~ (This is with multiple different teams with various different stats)

Sometimes I run around with a Shadow/Wind/Light, but that's more or less me matching elements with what I believe my pets personalities would go with and I just think it's a fairly efficient set up. (My League of Beautiful Gentleman, all tamed Legendary team. Lowest stats you can get pretty much but they have no trouble in TLG)

For fire, I use a triple fire team with level 25 max stats for efficient point grinding on battle boards. They're just a little too squish for me to use on a regular team and I'd prefer not to have to worry about which move to use if I had a mixed team.

If this was in response to me, I wouldnt call it backwards, just different 8]. *Shrugs* The definition of a tank when it comes to battling in games is a fighter with high HP that can also do some pretty good damage. But honestly, my Phaeddon doesnt even entirely fit the above definition (nor does Acadian, for that matter), even though thats how I use him. Of the three pets in my team, its actually Lynaea who has the most HP (9277, to be exact), followed by Phaeddon (8836), then Acadian (6665). So if youve put a lot of your Fire pets proficiency points into health, it technically is a tank.

Thank you all very much for your responses and opinions ^^

I'm surprised to hear some does use fire as well^^ It seems like there are quite the different opinioins about them out there xD

I'm quite new and I wasn't able to get through Faerinas Shrine until I got my fire pet as a third party member.

I don't know much about low stats or high stats. I don't know much how to best use my pets, so I just did what I thought would be the best. That's why it doesn't seem to be a normal team with normal proficiencies
At first I had my Light Pet in the lead (The's why she has quite some HP), but later on I found out, that it was more efficient to swap her place with my earth pet xD

As for me, I always use the same team. I have a second team on Level 49, I rarely use (Earth, Light and Wind). I feel like levelling is really slow with them and I need to swap them out quite quickly, because they are defeated, or close to be. I haven't used it in the last two months or such...

As for my main team: I had problems during Fortune Week when I still had my Light pet in first place and was below LV 50. But now that my Team has the Earth Pet switched to the front, I didn't even had to pay attention during battles. After I fought the 5. named in a row, I sometimes wondered, why only 2 pets where attacking, but only, because I hadn't paid any attention ^^* My Light Pet on second Place has enough Health to can fight quite some time with the fire pet alone without getting ever below 3/4 of her health.
Most of the time I made my named runs without any of my party members ever going below 50% (except I didn't paid attention). Otherwise it was always quite quick, because my Fire Pet constantly burnt the named and so it always got a decent amount of damage as an extra to my attacks. As for my Wind Pet: My Enemies rarely got the bleeding.

Maybe it was just my luck, or my low level, I honestly don't know ^^ I mainly used a wind pet in that party, because I wanted to have one pet of each element, even though I used Light instead of water in the end, because I just liked it better for the pet xD

I guess I have to learn quite a lot about teams and elements and proficiencies. I just use what I felt was right and worked out the best so far, but maybe I could use other combinations as well. I have a few new Mission Pets, I want to use and Level up, so I can switch them out sometimes and test it out ^^
