It keeps on saying that I have the power to capture, but i cannot find it. How do i find it?

Are you talking about the "Capture a Sylesti" quest?

Yes. I can't quite figure it out.

u can weaken a pet or just catch it, in order to catch tho u must go to the manage section on the newer screen, since ur on the capture sylesti quest ur prob on the older system. u must click inventory(the bag) or the I key which does the same thing. U will see the pets picture and ur traps, click one of ur traps types, then click the picture then press the complete botton, if u r weakening the pet, then hopefully ur pets don't kill him b4 u capture. U can tell by reading the system log once the battle is over if u caught ur pet.
edit: oh btw u must end turn to, no matter what once ur done with ur turn u must end turn, and traps can b bought in the broker or a towns markets. Each trap will do better against certain pets, and some will not catch certain pets. it depends on the pets star color which determines how many traits a pet has.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the 'catch a Sylesti' quest is a scripted event so you just need to keep exploring until you come upon a sleeping sylesti which you can then choose to capture, thus completing the quest...
