I haven't made it to the lost grove yet. also, which armor would be best for which pet?

For your Agility pet, use Assassin gear, Illusionist gear, or a combination of the two (The third option might be best, since while hes attuned to a physical element, his magical damage level is higher than his physical damage level.). Use Arcanist, Evoker, or Illusionist gear for your Intelligence pet. Equip your Dexterity pet with Myrmidon or Evoker gear. Give your Strength pet Ravager gear, Assassin gear, Myrmidon gear, or some combination of those.

there's no point putting int based gear on a physical element pet or str gear on a magical element pet, neither uses the other Damage stat at all (phys elements only calculate their damage output by the Phys Damage stat and vice versa), although of course it doesn't really matter if the pet is only ever going to be for missions and never be in a battle, since missions only use the HP/Str/Int/Dex/Agi, not the Damage stats.
The LG equips, when you do have lv60 pets, are as follows (lg equips have stats that are Very high> high > average > low, we'll list the first two):
Lightbringer, Int>Agi
Pyromancer, Int>Dex
Reaver, Agi>Int
Storm Caller, Str>Dex
Tidal Lord, Str>Agi
Warden, Agi>Str
(there are no LG equips that have Dex as the Very High stat)

Oh, I know that. *Nods* The OP was asking about mission pets, though. I only said what I did because thats what I did with one of my Mission Pets (my main Dexterity one, specifically), and although its been awhile since I sent her on a mission, shes one of only a few pets who Ive never gotten the Failed result with upon her return.
