I'd recommend doing 6vis first, it's faster

But that's just me.

(Hey Xav, you're the expert, wanna put in your two cents?)

Yeah
Patially since once you have the 6vis, you can have a better launch pad for the max stat iguess
Or something like that

To add on to this discussion, 6vis breeding takes time and stable space, but is relatively cheap and quick-ish. Max stat breeding takes a long time and a huge investment in prismas - it can get pretty expensive.

Furthermore, even with max stats, people are more likely to buy them if they look nice. So while, say, a 2c max stat pet is functionally no different than a 4v max stat with a nice color scheme, people would be more likely to buy the 4v.

I'd recommend starting by breeding to vis. It doesn't have to be 6v, either - I have a couple finished projects that are 4v, and I'm working on one that's 5v. As long as the colors and traits look nice, you'll hopefully get a few people willing to buy. Then, once you've got a good understanding of how projects work, you could later try for max stats if you wanted to. Just be aware of the costs and the large investments it will take.

Haha, thanks, Orca :)

Adding to what Som and Orca have already stated I will add that breeding for visibles first is way more efficient, and here's why:

Breeding for visibles takes NO EXTRA COST. It's just breeding. From there you can effectively philter your pets through each generation, KNOWING that your end result and the investment will be worth it.

Going for the alternative, if you entirely forego the visibles and go for just the stats, you're likely to end up with a bunch of crappy low-trait, perhaps even no-trait maxed stats pets, and then you're greatly hurting your chances at sales. Maxed stats pets are highly values, yes, but it's a market that's growing more and more crowded by the day - pets without visual appeal will easily be outshined by everything else that's available. I will 100% shamelessly admit that my main advantage in the stats market is the variety I have to offer.

" I looked at all the other max stat breeders and honestly I like yours the best lol They're all so great and I want so many of them XD; "

Actual message I got recently amidst some sales reserves. I can't even begin to calculate how much gold/diamonds I've spent on pet dyes, how much time and care I put into covering a wider range of traits to offer, how meticulously I tweak and alter a new design until I feel that it's ready.... But I can tell you that the added investments really do pay for themselves in time.

I'm not sure what your project design is, but I've found that starting with a themed pet is the easiest way to go about it. Excluding restricted sets, themes will give you a massive array of traits to use and they almost always come with an interest base from players who like the theme. Even if the goal you have in mind is a personal design, you can always dye up a future pair once you're done with the initial project - and you can get more traits into the design without having to spend more gold/diamonds on essences to get the variety.

(Pretty sure that was more than just 2 cents worth, but when it comes to an big investment like maxed stats it's better to think long-term and have as much knowledge as possible :) )
