i have 40 broken traps and 40 empty bottles

To complete the task each week, you have to spend 40 more materials on items. For example, I could use 40 empty bottles to buy 4 greater grove draughts.
If you don't know, you can click on "Viewing Prices in Gold (Click to Change)" to buy items with bottles/traps.
