Hey folks,

As the title suggests, I'm struggling a bit with some of the LG bosses. What I'm looking for is a critique of my part(ies). I sort of have two;

Party 1;
Zeera - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1257077
Lupo - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1278567
Neos - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1871971

Party 2;
Zeera - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1257077
Akira - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=2419937
Temari - https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=2017653

Zeera is the constant in both parties, the other two from each party only have a few levels between them. They are otherwise the same element and I use the same gear (just swapping them over between teams).

I haven't been active until recently for a few years so things have changed. I roughly followed some guides and bought the best gear I could find for them. But, bottom line, I'm still getting stomped a bit here and there, party 2 gets beaten far worse than party 1, despite the similarities.

Are there any other improvements I could make? Have I chosen the wrong elements or affinities for some of them? Could I be switching certain party members for others. Or is it just a matter of doing more level grinding (gods I hope not, that 1MIL + exp is insane to grind).

Advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers folks,
Sin~

Well there are tweaks that could be made but definitely have the right idea when making your party. With healers it's typically a better idea to put points into dexterity instead of agility, for example.

No, the problem isn't your party. It's that the bosses are hard as hell in the Lost Grove. Most of them have specific tricks that you have to watch out for and plan around. The druids and Mal are about the only ones where "hit them really really hard" is the only real strategy. Here's a strategy guide for them.

Also, move ranks are a thing. If you use your attack moves a lot in the Lost Grove they will rank up and give you strength boosts that far exceed a simple level up. It takes a lot of time to do so but it's worth it. You'll need several move rank ups before you're able to take on the more difficult bosses.

As Sakina mentioned, ranking your pets moves is huge in LG. I would highly recommend picking three pets for your team (the ones with the highest base stats) and sticking with them. Switching which ones you use will really slow down the ranking of moves and they are already insanely painful to level up. Hitting rank level 3 made a huge difference for me, especially for my healer. I ignored the bosses other than Mal for quite some time when I first entered LG, even with my max stat pets. I run with the same elements (water tank/light healer/wind dps) and they work great for me.

Unfortunately, LG is a giant painful grind fest.

Thank you, Sakina, Faeyla.

Good to know my team doesn't suck. Team 1 has been my main team for a very long time They hit the level cap years ago and its since been raised. I levelled up team 2, they had slightly better base stats than team 1, but team 1 is slightly further along in terms of ranking their moves. So I think it best if I stick with team 1. I noticed even with slightly higher stats, team 2 doesn't last nearly as along as team 1, even against regular enemies they tend to struggle. I briefly considered having team 2 all shadow elements but I'm not sure about how effective that'd be.

If its all about ranking moves at this stage, then I guess I better get back to grinding. Eww. But maybe if I'm lucky I'll find an egg. I cant bear grinding anywhere other than the LG anyway, the systems for battling outside LG are a bit more tedious.

If anyone else can think of anything to tweak or improve team 1, I'm all ears- err. Eyes. At this point, anything to squash that angry ent boss that keeps wiping the floor with me. Lol.

Thanks again!

And just a reminder, moves can only be ranked in LG. Fighting anywhere else will not give rank experience, so you pretty much have to grind in LG.

I have never actually compared pets of different stats, but same rank levels so I have no idea how much stats actually help. Good luck with the grind!
