If you buy an extra one, does it disappear after the festival you bought it in? Or do they stick around for the next festival?

extra cauldrons disappear after use.

I also assume that they disappear after the festival if you don't use them.

Only the three starter cauldrons stick around and can be reused. The other cauldrons have to be rebought after you collect the sylestis you brew.
