How do base stats get decided? I know about the nurture part, but that's after it hatches. I know about philters, too. I want to know about the very base stats before any nurturing or philters.
What about when you generate from an essence, or when you get an egg from events (brewing, sculpturing, festival zones, etc)? Is that completely RNG? Is it RNG + favouring slower stats to make higher stats more rare?
What about when a 20s stat pet breeds with a 90s stat pet? How are the offspring's stats decided?

Er, well it's of course going to heavily depend on how you get the pet.
If you get the egg from breeding, the egg's stats are going to be somewhere between the mother and father's stats. The number chosen between the two iscompletely RNG.
If you get an egg from the essence the base stats are already set based on species and are dependent on the type of essence (regular, enhanced, mystic) you use.
If you're building an pet during a fest event (like ice sculpting for this winter's fest) the base stats are going to depend on the species and the bonuses (via items or the bonus you get from continued agent use) you give it.
If you tame a pet there is usually a small range you could have for each stat and it's decided by RNG.
