so um.... i feel really dumb for asking this because I'm not a newbie but when you genetically test a sylesti and the colors show up I know what green and blue means (carried and visible) but what does purple mean? I feel like I've heard it was hidden but isn't that the same as carried?

Yep, it means hidden. That means that you can still see a visible trait, but there is also a recessive trait hidden 'underneath'. So there will be two different letters (and neither of them will be N). I'm terrible at explaining so let me know if you need clarification.

each letters is associated to a traits asside from N that stend for none. Since each traits slot (and speacies) re-use the letters, here is an exemple :

this is a 1 vis, no carry quitari. After testing her, you can see that she have a ressessive (or hiden) trait

Gene One: (NN) None
Gene Two: (NN) None
Gene Three: (NN) None
Mutation One: (HI) Spring Flowers
Mutation Two: (NN) None
Mutation Three: (NN) None

The letters in front of the traits tell you that M1 'H' for that speacie stand for the trait Spring Flowers. If you look at the generator for M1 'I' it will show you that it is in fact the trait Nightmare armor, in this case this is your hiden trait.

so when writen, M1 (HI) mean :

Gene One: (NN) None
Gene Two: (NN) None
Gene Three: (NN) None
Mutation One: (HI) Spring Flowers visible and Nightmare armor hiden
Mutation Two: (NN) None
Mutation Three: (NN) None
