So I am developing a max stat team for the Lost Grove. My tank is going to be Shadow and my healer is going to be Light.

That leaves my cannon with either Air or Fire.

I'm curious - what would everyone recommend and why? I turned my very first generated pet into an Air cannon and she does a commendable job, but I'm also intrigued by Fire pets' ability to hit multiple targets.

Could I get some insight please? I'm not sure which to pick.

If I have to only use one or the other, I personally tend to like air. It's good for hitting bosses really really hard, both in grove where their minions are easy to take out, and in fest zones where they stand alone. Rank 4 Decimate is amazing.

That said, I do have a rank 4 light-air-fire party. Best of both worlds, haha.

Fire definitely has its uses for powering through stuff faster, especially in the caves where encounters have minimum two enemies.

Ultimately it comes down to personal preference though. Making a max stat team may not be the ideal time to experiment, but you might mess around with each one and see which one you prefer. If you can't decide, light tank with both cannons is always an option, haha.

I personally have one of each, and more or less switch between them, based on what Im fighting. If its multiple enemies (high-level Nameds with minions like my most commonly encountered one, Malfarian The Augur, excepted), I use a Fire Cannon. If its bosses and/or elites, like the aforementioned one or a Crazed Druid, I use an Air Cannon (Im actually not following that rule ATM, because Im trying to get all five of the pets I use for my main party to Level 70, which is currently the max. So Im using my backup Fire Cannon (Shes currently Level 66.) right now.)
