Since you only have two party slots ATM, Id say for the first example I gave, have a pet like the first one (a Shadow Tank) and another like the third one (a Light Healer). Just as a backup, if youre working on getting through Faerinas Shrine (You have to fight two or three enemies at a time there.), have a pet like the second one (a Fire Cannon). For the second example, have a pet like the second one (an Air Cannon) and a pet like the third one (a Light Healer). As a backup, have a Shadow Tank.

In terms of equipment for pets in my first example, use Illusionist gear, Evoker gear, or some combination of the two for the Shadow Tank. For the Light Healer, use the two above, Arcanist Gear, or some combination of the three. Use the same types above or a combination of them if you choose to have a Fire Cannon backup. For the Air Cannon in my second example, use Myrmidon gear, Assassin gear, Ravager gear, or some combination of those three.

Nice base stats would definitely be a plus, so I would recommend

Before you get any higher leveled. I can level those two up to 35, no cost, if you'd like, whenever we're both online.
The ryo has better agility, so I would say (at level 35) one point in health, one point in intelligence, and shadow attuned. First slot. Try to find Illusionist gear (best for Shadow at that level, boost int/agi)
The 'vene has better dexterity, so I would also say 1 health, 1 intelligence, light attuned. Second slot. Try to find Evoker gear (best for Light at that level, boosts int/dex).
That should be all, until you get your 3rd slot. Then you can get a damage dealer.

Sure, no problem 8). You will have to do a bit of guesswork, since your pets are at a much lower level than mine ATM, but theyll still (hopefully) be useful to you as a model of what to shoot for once you (and your pets) are at that same level. Good luck :)!
