This might be a foolish question but is there a way to turn Carrie traits into visible traits?

no
Unless it's a tamed, in which case you can technically do it by using a philter of nullification to remove the carried trait and then a Greater genetic mutator to give the pet the same trait but visible.
But that's only if it's tamed, and hasn't already had a mutator used on it- If it's offspring/ generated/ exclusive then you can't use a mutator. (also, ggm's are Expensive (200 diamonds normally), so you wouldn't want to go using them frivolously. You'd want to be Real Certain that you wanted This Specific Pet)

Other than that, nope, you just have to either make as exact a copy of the pet as you can via an essence in the generator, or breed the pet to achieve the desired result, or you could just try to find another pet that has that trait visible (either wild or for sale) and dye it (assuming the colours are important)

Like Scathreoite said it isn't possible (or worth unless they are for a project/themmed) to just "upgrade" a pet's trait from carried to visible however since you are not speaking about one perticuliar pet in this question the answer is yes, via breeding (and possibly multiple generations).

By breeding togedther two pets compatibles with the wanted trait the offspring have roughly 50% chance to enherite the caried gene as a visible one, 75% if one of the parents already have the gene visible. This breeding guide could explain you how to proceade in deept. It is made for 6vis so keep in mind if you only want that one trait (this wont take nearly as long to make dont wory) but the informations on breeding are still valid. ^-^
