(Mods, please feel free to move or remove this thread if it's not in the right place! Since Toyhou.se isn't a game and isn't Sylestia related, I thought it would be okay to post, and that this would be the best forum for it.)

So, what is Toyhou.se? Basically, it's a character storage site with a LOT of customization options and a bunch of nifty features. This includes stuff like the option to post as your OC in forum threads and on other characters' profiles, make galleries of art of your character, make "tabs" for subversions or AUs, and the ability to make really freaking nice profiles where you can store all sorts of information about a character.

Like, really freaking nice. Here are two examples for you: Ada Turing, Falche Graysong (landing page and details).

Anyway, I'm giving out codes for free! I have a premium subscription, so I get two new ones a week, and they've been piling up for a while. Just ask if you want one - my only rule is that they have to be for your own use, no reselling or trading. (Also, please be patient if it takes me a while to get to you - I've often got my hands full with other things so sometimes I can't respond right away!)

Does it cost money?

You need an invite code to sign up, but using it afterwards is free. Paying money gets you access to some extras, but you can still make awesome profiles, store as many characters as you want, and access the main features of the site.

Do I have to draw to be on Toyhou.se?

You don't have to draw. If you want, you can just use it as a place to keep track of your OCs. You can also upload other people's art (if they gave you permission to do so) and there's a section with each submission where you can put a link to credit them.

Is there support for writing?

Yes! You can store writing on Toyhou.se like you can store art. Also, you can create "worlds" which are like private forums, and RP in them with friends.

I can't code, how will I be able to make my profiles nice?

There are a lot of generous coders who have made codes that are free for anyone to use, as long as you give credit. You can find their posts on this forum. If you want examples, two of my favorite coders are Eggy and togedemaru! They also have really epic paid themes that are a few dollars to use, if you're able to pay money.

What if I don't want other people to see my OCs?

There are a lot of different privacy settings. You can set characters to be totally private, which means they're only visible to you. You can set characters so that they're only visible to other users you've given permission to. You can even set them so that they're only visible with a special link, so even people without a Toyhou.se account can see that character if you give them permission.

I see people trading and selling characters there, will I be harassed into selling mine?

All of the trading/selling seems to be for adoptables of special closed designer species. My friends and I all have characters who are just normal OCs of our own making and we've never encountered it. If worst comes to worst, you can block them or lock your account so only people you've given permission to can talk to you.

What else can I do there?

The site has some active forums where you can play forum games with your OCs or as yourself, RP, and trade art. Of course, if you want to just keep to yourself that is also fine, and you won't be obligated to participate at any time. But if you want to, it's there!
