WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD!
This is a collaboration between Raika, Alaula, and I.
Raika provided the pets. Alaula provided the screenshots. I wrote up the guide.
You enter the Festival Zone and are greeted with this...
You travel to the top right corner of the map and go three spaces down, here you enter the maze! In the maze you'll just keep going until you come across a 4-way intersection, you'll want to go left here. At the end of this stretch you'll come to a 3-way intersection, here you'll want to go south. You'll pass one 3-way and come to a second, here you'll turn right and keep following the path till you reach another 3-way. Now you'll go right, pass the first 3-way and turn south at the second. When you reach the bottom of this path you'll take a left and continue down the path till the next 3-way. Here you'll continue going right. Keep following the path until you get to the next 3-way (this will be your last). You'll turn left here and then follow the path till you reach the island!
Somneli's Maze Map
Now that you've reached the island you will see Vardune, Storm's Fury. And this is where the fun begins! Keep in mind that it is recommended to use a Tank - Support - Attack team or a full Survival team. Here we will show tank-support-attack with earth-light-air.
Earth Tank
-Recommended lvl 70, Ranked, and Warden Vinethorn gear
-Start with Mocking Blow (ability 3) and keep Vardune taunted at all times
-Follow with Thorncoat (ability 2) and try to keep it up at all times
-Use Leeching Strike (ability 1) in between Thorncoat and Mocking Blow
-Block when Vardune is at 50 mana (or full mana for those without scanners)
Light Support
-Recommended lvl 70, Ranked, and Pyromancer Vinethorn gear
-Start with Fairy Light (ability 2)
-Use Restoration (ability 3) on your tank if their health starts to drop
-Use Divine Balance (ability 4) if your tank falls below 50% health
-Use Beam (ability 1) when Restoration and Divine Balance aren't needed to build mana
Air Canon
-Recommended lvl 70, Ranked, and Storm Callers Vinethorn gear
-Start with Torrential Blow (ability 3) as it increases the damage for 4 turns
-Use Razor Wind (ability 2) after Torrential Blow
-Use Slash (ability 1) when you can't use Torrential Blow or Razor Wind
Important Notes
-You want the best elixirs you can get your hands on, I would recommend around 20-30 Strong Restore Elixir III. Use these not only to keep your health up, but primarily to keep your mana up. You'll be using more mana than your pets can keep up with.
-Remember that your tank can Mend if your support is struggling to keep their health up
-Your team does NOT have to be max stat. Raika, Alaula, and I all defeated Vardune without max stats.
-We do recommend a little bit of a gear upgrade, it'll help a lot!
The biggest attack to watch is Vardune's Singe. It can cause some pretty heavy damage over time (DoT). If you have a lot of Singes on your tank, you may want to consider using Divine Balance to counter the heavy damage. If there's only one or two Singes on your tank, you can either Mend or use Restoration. We recommend keeping Thorncoat up and keeping Vardune Taunted. Thorncoat helps reduce damage to your tank and Taunted keeps the damage off your support and canon.
Finally, remember that Vardune can be beat! He is difficult and a bit time consuming, but he is not impossible to beat. Vardune can be defeated with non max stats but I highly recommend that they are ranked up. The reason for this? My max stat team with two pets at rank 3 failed to defeat Vardune while Raika's lower stat but ranked team easily crushed him.
And now for the rewards! (note that these are Alaula's rewards and not everyone's rewards will look the same.)
Raika, Alaula, and I have found the rewards are usually...
Durable Equipment
Stoneweave Equipment
Majestic or Fabled Sculpting Catalyst
Premium Clam
Majestic Fishing Pole x5
Majestic Beach Shovel x 5
Sun Token x500
Hope this helps in your conquest of Vardune!

If you defeat Vardune with a different party set up than Earth - Light - Air, please provide us with details of how the fight went or post the details here. ^^

Just a couple of added notes:
There is a nest node located next to the island in the water, right above it
After defeating Vardune, which is a one time boss he will not respawn, you can reach the loot behind him, two ancient chests and a nest node. All of these things are one time spawns, and the things on the island will not respawn.
Now in regards to the battle itself (Based on earth light air setup):
Vardune
**Based on rough calculations of stats, level 70 max stats with base level vinethorn at rank 3 or 4 should be able to win you the fight with the help of elixirs, higher upgraded gear such as boosted vinethorn or base stoneweave enables non max pets to do the fight as well, rank 4 on thorncoat and beam, rejuvenation prove very helpful in the fight**
*Vardune gains mana very quickly*
*Vardune will not summon minions so air is recommended to deal as much damage to him as possible*
*Vardune has a DoT, or damage over time, that he can cast on your pets called singe. It will deal around 1k or more damage per turn, so it is important to watch how much is on your pets and plan heals accordingly*
Earth
-Mocking blow first turn and keep Vardune taunted onto your tank as often as possible. This is to keep singe, which deals damage of time, focused on one pet which allows you to focus heal one pet instead of trying to manage all 3.
-Thorncoat is another important thing to have up, as it will help negate damage dealt to the tank, again helping make heals manageable
-Earth regains mana slowly compared to other elements, so elixirs can be used to help keep up mana and health. These elixirs an be obtained from level 50 mission satchels
-when Vardune is at about 2 or 3/5 mana, make sure he is taunted if not already, and if he is already taunted, make sure thorncoat is up. If both are up just attack as normal
-When Vardune reaches full mana, block on the tank. If he isn't taunted block on all pets
-watch the tanks mana, and be sure to have enough for mocking blow followed by block on any given turn
Light
-Use beam as often as possible to keep mana up
-When Vardune is at full mana, if he is taunted on the tank use rejuvenation on the tank, if rejuvenation is at rank 4 use it on the tank more often to keep the HoT, or heal over time, up to help negate singe damage. This also applies to other pets afflicted with singe regardless of whether Vardune is at full mana or not
-If Vardune is not taunted by full mana block on that turn
-Use divine balance only as a last resort if a pet is about to faint
Air
-Keep Vardune dazed when possible using torrential blow, and then use razor wind to get the bleed effect up on him to deal damage over time in addition to the direct damage you deal
-be sure to have enough mana to block or mend at any given time
-When Vardune is at full mana, block if he is not taunted onto the tank
-Use decimate near the end of the fight for highest damage output, earlier in the fight mana is best used to cause daze and bleeds
