So I've seen that some people are releasing themed pets that would have good value for them, are they doing that for space so they can re buy them with dias?

Well... it depends on the pet and the player. There are a couple reasons that someone might release a pet even if they're Themed: for stable space, for the Lost Grove bonus, and attempts to help the economy.
