Most simply? A lot of people like dogs/dog-like creatures 8). *Shrugs* I believe both the Lupora and Puffadore are very popular, too. Im not as big a fan of the Puffadore as others are (I only have one, though she isnt in either of my stables ATM.), because why have a stand-in for a domestic dog when I can have a stand-in for a fox (the Zolnixi) and/or a wolf/coyote (the Lupora), you know? But I get why many players do have Puffadores :).

I think also, though, its because they have so many great, interesting traits (except, IMO, the Stubby Tail mutation; Im not a big fan of that trait. It just looks kind of off on a fox-like creature.) that, by & large, look really good together. Thats the other reason I personally like them.

Zolnixies are cute. I mean, what more do you need? :)

BTW, did you notice their size? You can see the size of any pet at the Generator, in the List of Species. A typical adult Lupora weighs 140 pounds (that is, 63 kilograms). A typical adult Zolnixi is only 30 pounds (13 kilograms) lighter!

An Earth fox is unlikely to weigh more than 30 pounds, total; most are much smaller. A typical Great Plains Wolf weighs 110 pounds, the same weight as that of a typical Zolnixi. The gray wolf, the one people tend to be most familiar with, typically weighs between 80 and 90 pounds--the Zolnixi is larger! Therefore, I think we should consider Zolnixies are being more like wolves than they are like giant foxes.

I did not know that =O! Interesting. I wonder why Krinadon & company decided to do that? Because like I said in my original comment, Nixis look similar to foxes, and Luporas resemble wolves/coyotes to me.

Yeah? How come, especially since, looking through your stable just now, its clear you do like Luporas & Puffadores, both of which are also dog-like? Now youve got me curious. Morkkos, Nytes (in their current form, anyway; well see what happens to their popularity following the implementation of their art revamp), Draeyls, and even Vuls, I get, even though I personally do like those species, but how can someone not like Nixis =\?

Personally, regardless of their size on site, I still think that nixies are closer to foxes than wolves.

Why I personally like nixis is because they do remind me of foxes, and their traits tend to work well together. I like wolves, but the lupora just doesn't seem as cohesive to me in terms of traits, and so I don't often find lups that I find gorgeous (there are some, but in general, I would go for a nixi rather than a lup).

I also tend to like lithe over beefy, and lups are definitely more beefy than nixis.

I just wish there were more/better domestic cat species on sylestia.
