Where can you find a genetics test other than the trade broker?

You can buy an unbreakable Testing Kit in the Diamond Shop for. . .uhh. . .I don't remember the amount of Diamonds, but you'll need Diamonds.
You can also ask other Sylestians to test for you!

I see, but that's wasting their test kits... and I don't know how to get diamonds.

The kit is 1000d currently because of the black friday sale and never runs out of uses.
Many players offer free testing services, it's not a waste as it has unlimited uses.

You can also purchase diamonds from other players for gold on the Currency Exchange (typical exchange rate is 2,000 - 2,500 gold per diamond). Link to the currency exchange.

That's perfectly fine, try Mikazukichan's suggestion maybe, you can use gold on the exchange broker. If you can't afford enough diamonds atm, I highly recommend getting free testing from another player. There are many who would help you. : )

I knew players on this game are nice, but holy crap this is beyond nice this is like godly nice I think if I ever get the ability to get a test kit Imma do what these people are doing for others.

If you are still looking to test some pets i can help you with that. ^-^
If you are planing on getting a test kit of your own i suggest you to wait for the start of a festival as the price drop and you have a way to make alot of gold from the zone you can then convert in the curencie exchange.

Ah, I see well, I don't really have any pets I think I need to get tested for I only wanted my themed pets to get tested... wait, I have the pets that I used genetic mutators on that I could get tested just to see what in the world I gave them.
