We will be having an Eggling Auction to close out this year's Winter Festival. It will run from
Saturday, January 30th at 12 PM through
Sunday, January 31st at 4 PM.

Game Rules
1. You may only have an active Bid on one Eggling at a time and you cannot outbid your own Bid.
2. Each Bid requires a Bid Increment equal to
2.5% of its
Starting Price. This is automatically set for you upon each page load.
3. At the top of every hour, Egglings with active Bids will have their
Current Bid increase by
2.5% at
NO EXTRA COST to their Current Bidder.
4. Gold is deducted when you place a Bid. If you are subsequently outbid, then that Gold will be immediately and automatically refunded to you.
5. In order to place a Bid, just simply click on the Eggling of your choice.
6. All Bids are final. You cannot request a refund on a Bid.
7. Once the Eggling Auction ends, the Players with the highest Bid on each Eggling will win that corresponding Eggling's Prize(s).
You can view the Eggling Auction page linked above to see what this game's prizes are. Since this is a Festival Eggling Auction, it will primarily consist of Themed Pets and a few Mystery Prizes.
What Changed?
(For those who want a refresh on the format change)
The biggest change to the Eggling Auction, aside from just a new page layout and all that fun stuff, is that at the top of every hour, Egglings with active Bids will have their Current Bid increase by 2.5% at NO EXTRA COST to their Current Bidder. What does this mean exactly?
Example, if at 1:30 PM, I bid 100,000 on Eggling #10 and nobody else has bid on that Eggling yet, I will become the High Bid on Eggling #10 and it will cost me 100,000 Gold.
At 2:00 PM, the Current Bid on Eggling #10 will automatically increase by 2.5%, or 2,500 Gold, and increase to 102,500 Gold. This means that a Player will now have to bid 105,000 (102,500 + the Bid Increment) to outbid me.
At 3:00 PM, the Current Bid on Eggling #10 will again automatically increase by 2.5%, or 2,563 Gold, and increase to 105,063 Gold. This means that a Player will now have to bid 107,563 (105,063 + the Bid Increment) to outbid me.
So on and so forth.
This hourly increase comes at
NO EXTRA COST to me. I still will only have paid my original 100,000 Gold. This mechanic exists to be an incentive for players to bid earlier and accrue free 'interest' on their bid rather than everyone just waiting until the last 30 seconds to bid for the first time.
If someone outbids me after hourly increases have occurred, I will get my 100,000 Gold back. I will not get free Gold back from the increase. The increase is a game mechanic only - it is not a bank. =P
Other than that major change, nothing else has really changed with the game. Just cleaned some logic up, gave it a new interface, and made some minor adjustments here and there.
Some more minor changes may come in future iterations. I had a limited amount of time to get this ready this time around.
