Hello :)
First question:
If i dont go online will my pets still get hungry? or can i leave for a time and they are still there when i get back?
Second question:
When seeing a pet in the wild, it say if its rare , uncommon and s on.
Where on the pet page of a captured pet does it say if it was rare, or not? I cant find it.

Yeah, your pets will get hungry, but they won't die. If they go too long without being fed they'll go unconscious, which just means you can't breed or fight or anything with them, but they'll wake up as soon as you feed them again. They won't die, and you won't lose them.
Uncommon/Rare/Epic/Legendary/etc just means how many trait points they have. However, if in the battle log it says "you have encountered a rare enemy!" that means you ran into a theme, and the pet will have a gold star and the theme name.
(a carried trait takes up 1 trait point and a visible uses 2)
Common (white/gray star): 0 trait points
Uncommon (green): 1 carried trait
Rare (blue): Two trait points (so either 2 carried or 1 visible)
Epic (purple): four trait points (4 carried, 1 vis 2 carried, or 2 vis)
Legendary (yellow/orange): Six trait points
Mythical (red): I believe it's 8 trait points? They're extremely rare and I've never encountered one so honestly I don't know for sure.
This also determines what kind of trap you need. A green trap can catch anything with a green star or below. Purple traps can catch epics or below. For Legendary and Mythical pets, you need a master trap (diamond shop item but you can usually buy one from the trade broker, but they're very expensive)
Now, in the Lost Grove, it's a little different. The colors of the traps there are basically how good the trap is. You can use any color trap there on any pet no matter what star it has (even legendaries!), but there, if a trap fails, the pet becomes harder to fight and capture. This does not apply to any other zone besides Lost Grove.

1. Yes, your pets will continue to get hungry, but they will always be there, no matter how long you leave them for.
For example: The pets in this stable have not been fed in 9 years. They are still there and will always be there, but as you can see they are malnourished and unconscious. This can be fixed by feeding them (100 gold per pet) and then you can wait for them to get full health or use droughts of potions.
2. The amount of trait points is what determines the rarity of a pet. 1 trait point is uncommon, 2 is rare 3-4 is epic, 5-6 is legendary, and 7-8 is mythical.
The way to tell the rarity of a captured pets is to simply look at how many trait points it has.
1 trait point is a carried trait.
2 trait points can be a visible trait or 2 carries,
3 is a visible and a carry, or 3 carries
And so on

"1 trait point is uncommon, 2 is rare 3-4 is epic, 5-6 is legendary, and 7-8 is mythical." so far as I know you can't find a 3, 5, or 7 tp pet in the wild or in the scale/pet shops? Epics are always 4, Legendaries are always 6, Mythics are always 8. There was a time when you could find 3tp pets in regions 1/2, I do have at least one pet from when that was a thing, but I think those regions got updated to the current version of tp/rarity setup at some point in the years since then?
.
You can make pets that have 3, 5, or 7tp via pet building seasonal activities via fert/blood/ice water and a double tending bonus (except summer sculpting which doesn't have bonuses) but Exclusive pets aren't considered with terms like 'uncommon' or 'epic'.

You cannot exactly see trait points on a pet unless they are pre-regen tho it is easy to calculate just by looking their traits. Each trait slot cost 1 tp and, unlike it may sem at first, a pet have 12 of those slots. This is why there are 2 letters next to the name of the trait as each of them represente a slot. In othe words, a carry cost 1 and a visible cost 2 tp.
By using the color of the star on a wild pet (before catching it) you can then see how many tp it have. Exclusive 'make-it-yourself' pets and generated pets will automaticly tell you how many tp it will have by default since you are the one applying that item onto them (tho in casses where bonusses are a thing having both usualy give you +1tp). For breeded pets tho, you will have to test them and compt the traits to figure it out or estimate from their lineage.
ps : you can technicly see the tps of pets by copying them into the generator but untested does not show carries, it's just simpler to just calculate it yourself since it add more manipulation then neadede. ^-^

Down in the pets genes, it looks something like this:
The very first thing we see is that the pet is genetically tested. We know because of the little test kit image.*
In Gene One, there is nothing. Not a single trait point.
In Gene Two there is a carried trait. This is one trait point.
In Gene Three there is a visible trait. This is two trait points.
and
Mutation Three there is a hidden trait. Hiddens cannot be generated, but you can call it 2 trait points if you wish.
Now, if the pet was not tested, the traits would look like this:
Gene One: (NN) None
Gene Two: (NN) None
Gene Three: (DD) Rainbow Life Runes
Mutation One: (NN) None
Mutation Two: (NN) None
Mutation Three: (AA) Butterfly Wings
The carried and the hidden trait would not be visible. Both can still pass on to offspring though.
*Now, some pets (starters and generated sylestis) do not need to be tested and will automatically show any carried traits, without the genetic test image.
Hope this helps!! ^^
