I hate to be a wet blanket... and i do like some of the changes, but there are two changes here that drive me nuts. First, for all everyone seems to like the "fluffy kitty" look, I really don't. I liked that Tundra Fur was the way you turned the sleeker cat into an arctic version... now they don't look that different with the tundra fur so its kind of redundant, and honestly to me it just looks too much like the weird back ruff on the Lupora (which is the main reason I'm not so fond of THAT species, so you can imagine how much I like having all my sleek kitties turned into furballs, *sigh*.) If the base model vulnix had just been kept with the sleeker look of the original, but with the same more expressive faces and styling of the body, I personally would have been much much happier. Now they are all bulky... cats, even the ferocious sabretooth, are mostly not that. This looks more like a bobcat on steroids to me than a sabretooth.
The second is that the anatomy of the feathered wings is just plain off. The first and second primary wing feathers are shorter than the rest of the feathers. That is just... wrong. No birds have that kind of a feather arrangement. Some have the outer feathers the same size (owls for example), but NOT shorter. It just looks weird to me, and off. It turned my favorite mutation on the vulnix into one that just grates on my nerves each time I look at it.
*sigh* I don't really like the Demon Wings much better, old or new, so I think my six vis project for the vulnix may just get sold off. I suppose that will give me a stable i can fill with Lighirha in summer though, so that's not necessarily such a bad thing.
I do recognize all the hard work that went into this kind of a change (thanks for everything you guys do to make this a better site every day!), and I am really curious how the Drael will be revamped, I'm just kind of disappointed at some of the specific changes of these guys. Like others, I miss the sleek look of the original. I just hope if you do decide to add another sleeker house cat design, its a little more refined than the silly looking puffadores. I've never been fond of them... too much like all those yappy little dogs that grate on my nerves in real life. Although, if the shop that sells puffs was given a new species of sleek little cats, it might get me to start taking the arena seriously, lol.
So at a guess, after the Drael will be the Morko? Poor things get no respect as it is, almost as little as the poor Drael. Both should be interesting... I like Morko females the way they are, but have never been fond of the sadistic look on the males. Will be interesting to see what if any changes you make to them, and the other pets you revamp.
It's supposed to be curved inward and towards the viewer so they'd be a bit different, so it would end up looking like this:
Feathers look to get longer at the third/fourth.
The wings were modeled off of vultures. :)

I am so happy with my starter now!
And I love the new designs and posing. I hated how the old females had such an awkward position. Honestly looked like they were about to fall over. I love the vulnyx species better now.

I prefer the sleeker look (Some people say it makes them look delicate, but most cats are actually very good fighters because of their sleek form) I do like the new version, but I don't think they look like cats anymore. I think that it should be a whole new species. I like the old version much better. (Although the new version is really cool, it's just not cat-like)

Thought I would point something out... These are fictional creatures, so while they're anatomy should be semi-correct to make them look decent, they not only don't have to be but should not be anatomically correct. It adds to the fantasy element of the game.
Also, has anyone here looked at a saber-tooth? They are very bulky and thick furred to help them survive in the world they lived in. They were not as graceful looking as our felines today due to their different needs for survival. They lived in a world where power and strength were valued instead of speed and grace. Have you seen some of the predators they were competing with? Dire wolves and terror birds (who kind of look like giant dodos with big beaks). Have you seen the some of the prey that was available? A tiger/cougar/jaguar/leopard would not survive with its sleek coat in lean muscle in the world of the saber-tooth. You also can't judge grace by only one view. I am almost one hundred percent positive that if someone made a run-cycle with these guys, they would look just as graceful and powerful as any modern wild cat.
Another note, the fluffy fur does not make Tundra Fur a useless/unnoticeable mutation. Tundra Fur covers the neck, ankles, and wrists of the feline. Those areas have to stay warm in cold climates, like a snowy tundra. The extra fur around the neck could also serve the purpose of defending against throat-biting attackers if this was a real animal. The plume on the tail is just pretty.
There is a problem with the wings and the skeletal armor, though, in my opinion.
The skeletal armor isn't as... impressive anymore. It looks very flat and undefined, unlike the rigged and well-shaded armor that was in the original lines.
The wing colors end very abruptly at the joint where the wings meet the shoulders. It's much more noticeable with the Demon Wings and the Lunamoth Wings than any of the feathered wing mutations. The Lunamoth Wings and the Fae Wings also seem a little low on the shoulders. The Lunamoth Wings look like they are too close to the chest and are a little low. The Fae Wings look more like they're on part of the forelegs.
I think I only noticed the wing issue because I always have difficulty with wings. They may be fine. I just have an issue with wings. They never look right to me.
I do believe the Draeyls need some work, but can we keep the Charmeleon element of them? (When my little sister first saw one, she asked me if it was a Charmeleon. I think she watches too much Pokemon.) They're kind of cute, but I've never been much of a fan of them. Maybe making them a little less bulky and clumsy looking would help. (I don't know, though. Maybe they need to be more bulky. *shrugs*)
If it ever comes to revamping the Zolnixis, I do fear what may happen. Zolnixi is widely loved, so a change to them could change that for the worse. It would be very difficult to please everyone and could make many people angry if the changes were too much.

Well at-least I'm not the only one to say this but I actually like the older version better. This doesn't even really look like a vulnyx..it's like something completely different.

I personally really like the new update to the Vulnyx, it's really coming up to par with the art work for the other newly released species..
Plus I really like my only Vulnyx now that she doesn't have purple ears!
